we certainly don't need more guards. and there's no way we trade lonzo or caruso (the latter a fan favorite and defensive lynchpin) to bring in a retread when the FO is trying to make their own distinct mark on the organization

id assume it would be Coby and others on the way out, i think Rose would be a nice addition no matter the history. If Lonzo goes down we really dont have another pure point, just guys that can run the offense but thats different. I know Taj would be a perfect fit.

Knicks are going to focus on one or more talent consolidation trades. They are likely to trade Quickley, Barrett, Toppin, Robinson, Walker, Fournier in pursuit of Dame, Simmons or Zion. The guys who they will likely keep are Randle, Taj, Rose, Noel, Burks.

Toppin and Robinson are the only Knick players I wouldn't mind having on the Bulls.

Never say never, but I don't think Robinson will be a Bull any time soon. I can't see them trading for a guy who caused a season-ending injury to a current player.

My goodness. I don't think we've ever seen a bulls team as athletic as this one.

I would hope that wouldn't factor into their decision. I mean, if it were Zach, I could maybe understand..

IQ is more of a 3 point chucker, barely gets to the rim (less than 6% of his FGAs last year were from 0-3 feet). I haven't watched him much, but my guess is he learned to flop pretty well, because he had a high FTr last year, but it's taking a dip this year.

Most of Coby's FGs are going to be 3s, and then shots from within 10 feet.

I'm not even arguing that Coby is "better" but they are actually not similar at all.

If I'm Portland ... at this point, if Philly comes and offers Simmons, a first or two (top 4 protected), one of Bassey or Reed and one of Milton or Thybulle, I make the move. The need for a 2nd first rounder would be based on the other parts put in.

Not similar in that Quickly looks like a guy who shouldn't be sitting and Coby does. I'm not saying Coby can't ever become good, but he just reeks of nothing special. He's an average 3pt shooter (although he a Februlauri May last year), he is terrible finishing, his defense is below average, his passing is average, his measurables are average. I get that he's our guy and our #7 pick, but I'm glad AK can be objective in his view on him.

Per WT… Most logical trade we’ve been talking about. McCollum for Simmons.

Olshey drafted CJ and wouldn’t add firsts to the deal.

POR gets Simmons while keeping Lillard and we are getting that pick this draft.

I was thinking Lillard, but yeah. Duh - back to CJ. That trade framework really makes sense for both squads.

I really hope Portland doesn't decide to blow it up, for the sake of our pick. But if they do, I'd like to try to get either Nurkic, Larry Nance, or Covington.

They make the trade, Simmons suddenly has a jumpshot and Portland wins the championship. How wild would that be?

(But I don't really see that happening).

I don't know if they would trade Barrett. I think they see him as a cornerstone piece. He's had a somewhat down year so far this year, but he's still very young and has a lot of potential. I don't see them as having that strong of a core that if they got someone like Dame it would put them in contention. It would be more of their typical pattern of trading away good young pieces for aging vets.

Toppin seems to be headed for major bust territory. Thibs does not play rookies, or young players, and Toppin does not seem able to get much PT there. I really don't much about how his nba game has gone, but he might be a guy that a change of scenery could do a good deal for. I don't know who we have that we could trade for him other than PWill or Coby.
