Re: The Raptors Show with Will Lou
Samson Folk is the most impressive, intelligent non-mainstream analyst out there right now imo.
He'll open his post match pod not long after the game is over doing a poetry rap-jam using lyrical annotations with players names etc. That's impressive.

Not a fan. They really lack entertainment value in their shows and they come across stale and boring. Great some dedicated Raptors content but do they have to sound like they're doing play-by-play for a cemetery?

Re: The Raptors Show with Will Lou
Been listening to will Lou via podcast at least 2 yrs now. Good info great raptors content. When I get tired of NBA radio ignoring us or saying Lowry or Demar is not good enough ( before this year).
Yeah good stuff hope it continues. We need a slander cast soon hope vs Celtics or Knicks.

Their podcast sounds like two college kids who decided to start a show. This fan base must be vying for any content if this has favourable reviews. Hopefully they’ll improve but for now it’s amateur hour,

I think they have a big network that are very proud and supportive. It won't last.

Re: The Raptors Show with Will Lou
Post game shows are great. With alex is good but when there’s another guest sometimes there isn’t much basketball talk. They need to add in some more content about the rest of the nba instead of going off on peoples life history but at least we do have a dedicated show now.
I usually listen to it every night while falling asleep.

Re: The Raptors Show with Will Lou
Loving the extra content this year.
As someone who works in the industry....it's extremely difficult to fill a full hour with content everyday. This is why so many radio/podcast hosts resort to that annoying super hot-take approach where they try to manufacture fake controversy and debate.
I appreciate that they're more mature than that cringey alternative. Agreed that some of the guests can be boring but there's not much else to fill the hour. Especially when there's a 2 or 3 day break between games.
So all in all....it's been pretty great imo.

they like sometimes put on a really professional raptors related show then it goes into random talk that sounds like an amateur podcast instead.
i'm not sure where they will eventually land but it's like we hear mike breen + jvg at times and then it becomes matt and jack singing.
with that said - the postgames are really great.
Everything they say outside basketball is pretty lame. But the basketball talk is surprisingly good. I only listen when I'm in the car so not very often these days
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Sportsnet is finally putting their stuff on YouTube. It shouldn't have taken this long.

Love the show. Will and Alex have good chemistry. Listen as a podcast and just skip the boring guests.
Side note, I heard Alex interviewing Alvin Williams early on and Alvin sounded much more relaxed and well spoken than he does on the raps broadcasts. Hopefully it will click for him soon because he's still pretty rough to listen to.

They should just air it on one of their channels like they do with many of their other shows. Sportsnet 360 seems like the best bet. Not like they have any good programming on around that time.

Imma little surprised the executives let them do that. Good news for the audience.....but i'll never visit the horrible SN website anymore.

Curious, why are you surprised the execs at SN let them do that?

Thank you. Alvin isn't Jeff Van Gundy out there, but at least he stays focused on what's happening on the court and he brings unique insights to each game. I don't recall him at any point this season going on a long tangent about his playing days, and he was a legit NBA player. As opposed to Leo who would go on these long monologues about playing back in the day, when he could barely get off the bench in his two NBA seasons as a player.

It's content. Has to start somewhere and unless we support it as fans, it won't get any better (and it may not continue to exist even in this format without any support).
Zach Lowe, Chad Thorpe and the Will Lou pod are the only ones I'm listening to at the moment with regularity. I throw on the pods when I'm travelling to work or in the gym. Between these 3 and RealGM, I get my weekly NBA fix.

Same reason i figured lots of this type of content doesn't go on youtube. Because they'd prefer the clicks and traffic on their websites and platforms? I don't know that for a fact....that's just what i always assumed. I'm just a sound guy so i dont know anything about how that stuff works.
