Can’t imagine losing to them. Stop Beal, Kuzma, KCP, and Harrell. No Dinwiddie or Hachimura.

Re: Game 26 vs Washington 7pm
Craig must be in the doghouse. It really pisses me off that Carlisle isn’t developing Isiah Jackson with a few minutes each game. If they split up Turbonis or move Goga in a trade Jackson will have very little experience. Even if no moves are made he needs more development than just the G league.
I’m glad someone has finally recognized Brissett needs minutes. I’ve noticed that a few players especially younger need consistent minutes to keep them sharp from a shooting standpoint.

Re: Game 26 vs Washington 7pm
Brogdon ignored Duarte who was open and waving his arms. Pacers ended up almost running out of time on the shot clock, and only got bailed out by a silly foul from Beal. Duarte made the FTs
I'm not sure how close am I to jumping onto the trade Brogdon bandwagon, but it's probably pretty close

You can hold that thought until summer. He can't be traded now as the deadline comes before he is tradeable after his extension.Topofthekey wrote:Brogdon ignore Duarte who was open and waving his arms. This trend has held true over like, 3 different coaches now. Pacers the organisation just don't like to play young players it looks like. Unless they are already relatively well polished, like Duarte

I have to give Brogdon some credit tonight. He actually got the ball to Sabonis more. LeVert however is still trying so hard to get his own playing selfish ball.
When watching Brogdon’s play I see a player who can make the correct and timely passes some of the time unless he feels like playing hero ball or getting his.
I sit here and wonder if LeVert
A. Can’t fit into a half court team concept of executing smooth flowing half court plays and is just a street baller.
OR
B. Just doesn’t have a skill set of effective passing.
As Hoosiers and basketball junkies we’re so used to execution of offense with timely passes from each player in the offense to get a teammate an open shot. Sharing the ball to a teammate.
When watching LeVert imho he’s not effectively passing the ball rather getting it to the open man too late or not at all. This results in the defensive man getting back into position to defend, break up the pass, or steal his pass. Now why he doesn’t run the offense fluidly is beyond my comprehension. Sometimes it looks like oh I can’t pass to Sabonis gotta find a guard to unload it to.

I’m really over him and I used to think he was an integral part of a team.

Re: Game 26 vs Washington 7pm
I think LeVert is miscast as a primary scoring option, at least for now. His back could be still bothering him, and there's still hope that he may "figure it out". But for now, I think he's best suited as the go-to scoring option of the 2nd unit
If not for Warren being injured, I think the team wouldn't be having this problem. They could start Warren at 3 and Duarte at 2. But due to Warren (and Holiday) being unavailable, there's no sensible way to push LeVert to the bench
At the very least, I think they can improve the current team just by acquiring a fringe starter-quality role player at 3, say a Caruso or Joe Ingles type. That way they can start him at 3 and Duarte at 2 and let LeVert come off the bench. When Warren is healthy again he can swap places with Caruso/Ingles

Re: Game 26 vs Washington 7pm
I agree that if Warren had been healthy this season would still have it’s ups and downs but they would be playing a lot better. I also should give LeVert a small break because it’s easy to forget that he’s not top notch healthy and playing when possible. I should note I’m over him, Lamb, and Goga because of the lack of fit or team chemistry.
I like Goga but he’s not getting a chance to develop here. If the Pacers feel like he’s had a chance I have to disagree. We really don’t know if Goga could even develop into a low post presence. I’ve seen flashes but mostly I see him waiting at the 3 point line to shoot or hand off the ball ending up out of position to make a difference near the rim. With the drafting of Jackson the plan has to be to move on from developing Goga although he’s so young still.

That is, at least partially, because we have a coach who doesn't like post-up offenses. Look at how he used Porzingis in Dallas, and how the way Sabonis is used has changed under him.

We knew that when we hired Carlisle. He used plenty of post up when he was here the first time. He like the rest of the league views the post up as obsolete.
As for Goga. The Pacers squeeze about 17 minutes out of a two big line up most every night. That's about as much as you can get away with in the game today. We've had three coaches essentially tell us. Those 17 minutes allow for Turner and Sabonis to get around 32 minutes each. There's nothing left for Goga. I think he can play but its not happening until they get one of Turner or Sabonis traded.

I actually like Brogdon a lot, but the experiment he wanted to try when he came here was to play point guard instead of shooting guard. That hasn't worked out.Topofthekey wrote:Wizop wrote:You can hold that thought until summer. We can't trade him this year, but we could move him to the 2.
