The issues with COVID are coming back. If Toronto somehow stays healthy through this they can move up the standings. Teams are hurting while Toronto seems to be just getting its full team back.

The Heat aren't as good as many expected. Lowry looks like he's taken a step back, and now with Adebayo out they're going to lose ground.
The Celtics have their two stars but lack team chemistry and a great supporting cast.
The Bulls have offense, but I need to see how their defense holds up before I slot them unambiguously above the Raps.
If we can just get and stay healthy, it should be a fun rest of the year - lots of juggling for playoff positioning ahead.
Regular season wise ? I think we can compete with 5-10th seeded teams.
In the playoffs ? I don’t see us beating Celtics, Heat, Hawks, Bucks, Nets and the Bulls. Not enough fire power or half court offence to keep up with them in a 7 game series.
The Heat would be more scary in the playoffs, especially if Adebayo makes it back in time.
The Celtics are scary because of the star power, and you'd have to expect the refs whistle to work against us.
The Hawks and Bulls don't scare me.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

With/IF we can get OG back soon, I expect to be top 6 (we are currently 2.5 games behind that spot now) ... or better.

Is it just due to covid? I get the feeling teams have all adopted lesser forms of load management now.

Who's gonna have a better overall career? Herro or Trent? I can't call it.

Detroit Cade Cunningham quickly moving up the ranks... won't be surprised if he is number 1 by end of season....as far as rookies this season.

If the talent is there, you can shine on a trash team. Dunno if he can be more productive than Scottie with FVV-Trent-OG-Siakam in the lineup.

I've always wondered... Is Herro's name actually pronounced "hero" or does he just say it that way because it sounds cooler?

He will be more productive, there is only one ball. Scottie's usage will drop when the lineup is healthy. Cade's is going to be 25%+ the rest of the way.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

same reasoning applies to the Raptors players getting added to covid/ injury report as well. You can probably reasonably estimate some of the Raptors going into covid protocols too if other teams are experiencing the same ordeal, some time in the near future.

I think whichever rookie in this class, outside of Jalen Green (serious chucker and probably be benched by Nurse) and Suggs (terrible shooting, questionable playmaking - suffering offensively) , would have been chosen by the Raptors in the top 8 or so - they would be pretty good in their rookie year.
Cade
Mobley
Barnes
Giddey
Kuminga (probably)
Wagner

Herro I think. Easily a better passer.
Why does passing take precedence over everything else?

Could someone say "GTJ I think. Easily the better defender?"

His name is likely castilian in origin and would be spelled roughly like "Harrow". Basically Arrow with an H, and some extra roll on the Rs.

"Harrow" is how I pronounced it before I heard it the first time.

Re: Official NBA General Discussion 2020-21 V1.0
It is more than slightly irritating that we could have drafted him and he in interviews really wanted to be drafted to Toronto.
But, the worst part is that Toronto's focus on size and shooting in 2021 draft makes me think the front office draft team is flawed. Flynn was an obvious poor fit with having Lowry and FVV at the time, and a year later he has already been replaced by Banton.
Hopefully, Svi can fill that role, but I am kind of shocked at how much Svi's shooting percentages have dipped over the past two years.
