The DeMar effect is working on him.

It's a good win, teams tend to play harder and better when their main player(s) is down. Enjoy the process and moment, well deserved pat on the back for the boys.

But the novelty effect usually doesn't last long. Cavs game is likely a trap game, need to watch out for that.

I've posted this before here, but the Nuggets game is always one of my favorite games to attend every year. The UC doesn't need help getting electric this year, but over the past 5 crappy season, it was always a night you knew there'd be some energy in the building due to Serbian-Chicagoans coming out to watch Jokic. You could see on the broadcast last night the couple right near the Nuggets bench with the Serbian flag - based on my experience of attending previous Nuggets games in Chicago - that's one of a dozen to two dozen serbain flags that were waving in the UC last night.
.

That's awesome for real.

Definitely alot of people with Jokic jerseys in the building last night.

Hopefully DeMar & Zach will be in his ear again at the all-star game.

His body is so skinny that it lacks the surface area to adequately cool itself with normal amounts of sweat, so it has to produce more to compensate.

Lavine played like an MVP last night. The decision making was on point. Chicago should have no problem giving him the max the way he's playing so far.

The longer they go without a typical or at least PW PF the more I think they can stay near the top of the standings for the regular season. I still think the playoffs become an issue.

They seem to be able to get by with a guard ending up as the PF without the problems I believed I would see seem to be because so few Pf's in the league today have any kind of post moves. The game having moved to being so reliant on the 3 ball many PF's are the 3 and D category. Everybody switches on picks and there are always mismatches. And rebounding is getting position and having more than one guy working the boards.

But since Caruso and Green are chasing their big man to the 3 point line instead of being backed down in the low post the 3,4,6 inches they're giving up hasn't been an issue very often. Randle was one guy that could post up and we saw him score big time but he also falls in love with the 3pt shot. But he's so the exception I am having trouble naming somebody else who has been able to exploit the size difference in the post. You saw it with DEN Green and Gordon certainly could have steamrolled Ayo in the low post but both end up shooting the three maybe because they don't have the post up game to use even with a 5-6 inch edge on the rookie.

Now playoff basketball is different the game moves more to the half court so more teams are going to put their bigs in the post even if they don't have great inside moves. But for now as the games have gone on I think they can get by in the short term at least until they can make a deal or pick somebody up

Hey, it's a theory. It would be a better theory if fat guys didn't sweat so much. But I do appreciate your creativity.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but Zach has gotten really good at making pocket passes to his roll man now. His playmaking has just really improved a lot. This is one of the things people used to undersell him, along with his defense. Definitely just massive improvements overall for him.

What does Vuc need to keep Team Jokic happy in Counter Strike? we need to hire gaming coach for Vuc, we want Vuc to be one of Joker's main guy in that team.

Also AK was instrumental in drafting Jokic for the Nuggets. There’s that relationship to consider as well.
Not sure we’ll have to cap space though, lol.

Donovan said as much. He has taken the next step on defense and decision making. Right now he's playing like the best 2 guard in the league.

"I think Zach played an incredibly complete game," praised Donovan. "Not only scoring and taking over the way he did at the end of the third, but also generating shots for a lot of guys. He probably could have had 15 assists, but Vooch (Nikola Vucevic with 20 points on eight of 24 shooting) missed some shots. He generated good shots for him, and I give Vooch credit for hanging in there."

"Zach was great all the way around," Donovan reiterated. "I thought he worked really, really hard defensively. There was a lot on his plate offensively, not only scoring but facilitating; he played an exceptional game."

Cap space? That's Trash GarPax way of thinking. In the modern NBA, you don't need cap space if a star player wants to come to your team.

Zach has some memorable games as a Bulls mostly from last year; like the 50 points he put on the Hawks, the 13 3-points Hornets game. In this game, he didn't have the kind of scoring output as those 2. But, I think this is one of the best game I've seen him play. This one is different. Feels like watching a different Zach. There's more maturity in his actions on the court today. Maybe very soon we'll see Zach switching from no. 8 to 24.

Seems like many of us here notice that that was a different Zach we saw last night.

Not just offensively either. He was all up in Aaron Gordon’s and Jamychal Green’s grill on defense. He’s becoming a two way star which is amazing.

Here's a good breakdown by nbc of the defensive gameplan on Jokic. Vucevic played solid man defense and didn't go for his usual array of ball fakes. The guards recovered well after showing double and baited him into bad passes.

Excited to see 'playoff' Zach.

And yes, He played great defense from small to bigs all night.

I am hesitant to get excited that Vooch would actively be recruiting his replacement. Don’t think he’d be able to slide down to 4.

Maybe in a couple years he woukd be willing to be the man off the bench at that point.

That's exctly what I was thinking. 32/16 split.

Zach has been steadily improving his on-ball defense, over the past couple of years. So last night wasn't a complete surprise. But he nailed his off-ball defense, too, which was something special.

Yep. About 90% improvement since October 2019.

This would be a good speculative thread.
