We need a good bounceback after that horrific loss to the Bulls. The Mavericks might not have Luka tomorrow night.

If we lose this one, which wouldn't shock me because we got smacked by Dallas twice last year, then we have to head to Houston on tired legs to face a Rockets team that has rattled off 6 in a row and is playing hard.

I'm thankful for the 2 days of rest, we have another back to back upcoming. I think that the key will be taking and making more catch-and-shoot 3 pointers, especially from our Big Two. Luka is still out as far as I know, Porzingis has been healthier and effective lately, and Brunson continues his ascension up the PG hierarchy. Their role players have been questionable this season, but they are athletic and physical, so they'll give us all we can handle. If Claxton can handle a few more minutes, that would help a ton.

I'll take em ugly or pretty, let's go get another W, go Brooklyn!

I'll try my image link another way, hopefully there are some fellow Nets / Hamilton fans who will get the reference:

hopefully we bounce back. Derozan went into health and safety protocols so that may get the Bulls some losses fending them off in the standings. In any event, Kyrie has his head so far up his head and is part of the "beast" system himself and seems to be toying with everyone. Seriously, this guy doesn't care for the Nets, basketball or anyone but himself, trade him for Dame Time and Dame will at least provide the floor spacing and another scoring option beside KD and Harden as well as another PG who can handle the ball beside Harden. This team has no time to wait for Mr. I keep changing my reasons for not playing. A Lillard/KD combo would still smother defenses.

I dont like our chances whether luka plays or not.

We have had garbage game plans and tank level coaching the last few games. like bad even for nash. We arent generating three point attempts, and teams are starting to put in the scouting report that if you hard double KD on the catch our offense becomes extremely inefficient

he isnt a great passer our of the double team (id argue he is reall really bad in this regard). it generates cheap turnovers and even if it leads to a few open threes on the whole it causes us to be much less efficient then KD attempting a shot regardless of what that shot is.

We have the best offensive player, ... maybe ever, and we do nothing to use him to put pressure on the D or get easy shots for others because of his gravity. We just dump it mid baseline post or hit him at the elbow off a pin down. maybe a dibble hand off on the wing beyond three.

thats literally it. nothing that causes off ball help. nothing paired with him and patty, him and joe. no KD/Harden pick and rolls (this prevents the D from trapping harden, cause it would leave KD wide open)

its pathetic. Harden isnt MVP form but he is still a 20/10/10 60TS% player who is 3rd in the league in FTA. Nash still has an all-star/All-nba player in current harden and KD who is 1 or 2 in MVP and he cant manage to get consistently very good to great offense. the staff needs help. ive come to grips nash wont be fired. if thats the case, other guys need to go and we need a guru on te bench running those things.

Houston is on fire. i see this as 2 losses.

We need a big Harden comeback game. Mavericks are not looking good anyway.

No excuses for losing.

Whatever is going on with Harden it's better get on point sooner. This team ain't going nowhere without him. He's like Jason Kidd that can score and the one we wished for back than.

I watched west coast trip games on YouTube the other night and got very depressed. This Harden we got right now is nothing close to what I've seen.

It all depends on which Nets team shows up.

Will it be the Nets team that had 76 FGA and 41 FTA against The Wolves

Or will it be the Nets team that got off 111 FGA and only 9 FTA against the Bulls.

The nets team with 20+ turn overs or the Nets team with under 10

The Nets team that gang rebounds or the Nets team that gets dominated on the glass?

The inconsistency has been appalling.

Will Harden ever return to being able to finish in the paint? (50%+)
Will he continue to play passive? The midrange and floaters can be effective too, but he rarely looks for them.

We know who Kevin Durant is + we have good role players.
Without Kyrie, the question becomes will Harden return to being a top 5 player? If, yes we can win the chip without KAI.
If not, we're cooked unless KD goes UI.

It’s simple math. We struggled against teams with 50% or better records, it will stay that way for now. Rockets are on a roll and we lost all the back to back games, so I see us having two losses in a row. Hopefully I am wrong.

At this point, I'm just rooting for Harden to have a Beard-like season when all is said and done.

I wasn't a big fan of the trade last season because I feared this kind of thing (James slowing down) was pretty inevitable, even if the exact timing was hard to predict. Still, in terms of this season, I personally believe he'll continue to get stronger, but the writing is kinda on the wall here, far as I can see.

Our team has given me unexpected joy this season (I love defense), but we're going to need a peak-form Beard and some other X-factor (I was hoping Clax would be it) in order to overcome whichever lethal killer comes out of the West (Dubs or Suns).

It just is what it is IMO.
I predict us continuing to get cohesive all season, yet still being edged out in either the East Finals or the NBA Finals, both to better-knit teams.

I hope my utterly damnest that I'm completely wrong, but we'll see.
I'm really not a fan of Shemp Curry (I've never been a fan of celebrating in other peoples' faces), but this guy is just crushingly, amazingly good, like even Ray Allen and Reggie Miller dropping-jaws-time, times two. Times anything, really.

I think we MIGHT be able to upset these absolute killers, but it would likely require Clax getting back on track, Blake rediscovering his mojo, and Beard getting back in to peak form.

One can only imagine if Kyrie were to descend from Mount Olympus in order to seal the deal. Because despite everything, I think I'd buy that! :D

(also heavily disagree that he'd be disruptive, because Kyrie's a brilliant iso-scorer, and that's who we are at this point, que non?)

I was actually really encouraged by the team's direction 2 games ago so i don't want to jump off a cliff.

I honestly don't care about anything else - Nash needs to figure out how to maximize spacing on this team. Even without Joe Harris. Even while integrating Claxton. What he did the last 2 games was inexcusable. Playing KD next to 3 or 4 non-shooters makes it impossible to score against a decently coached team. Period. You can try as hard you want - you can't score without shooting in this league.

I don't care if it takes more Cam or Jevon Carter or even David Duke - or less Bruce Brown. Whatever.

Also we've seen enough from Millsap. The guy can't play. Especially at 5. If you want to try giving him spot minutes at 4 as an experiment - cool. The 5 stuff should be over with. Claxton is on the team. The guy is our only lob threat and was statistically one of the best defenders in the league last year. Surround him with shooting and let him play.

Last thing - the KD + Harden minutes are unacceptably high. I can't believe our organization is letting this rock.

Only thing that gets me exited to watch Nets games right now is Cam. If not for him and all this crap, I'd take a leave for good. This team is hard to watch lately for me.

That would have been a monster jam by Millsap, he is giving us good hustle. But a few slips as well.
