He reminds me of Mo Harkless a little bit. Maybe a better version of Mo.

Body-wise, athletically, and defensively, I think they're very similar. I think what makes Brown special is his shooting. I think he ultimately has a chance to be what Jerami Grant has been for Detroit.

Him going blow for blow against Cunningham.

Hes got some great athletic tools.

He hasn’t played much since summer league but there cause for optimism and for all Olsheys faults he has a pretty good eye for second round talent.

Neubeck's sources are in the front office and I'm comforted that taking McCollum is a non-starter for Morey.

Yep, CJ is not an asset with his contract.

Because he sucks. Bad fit with Curry/Maxey, overpaid, zero defense, a lot of injuries.

Morey isnt going to trade Simmons for him.

Everyone does realize this all part of the negotiation tactics right... Sure, there are better players in the league, I'd also prefer Durant or Curry, but the reality is that we're not getting a superstar player for Simmons.

And that's not just because he's an unwilling shooter or he doesn't want to be here. He's a 25 year old player on a max contract, so there are only a few teams in the league who are interested in him and have the assets to acquire him.
A three-team trade is also difficult because there aren't that many teams in the league that have a stud player (who fits the Sixers need) and are willing to blow it up and start over again with a bunch of 1st round picks.

Under the current landscape maybe, but the whole premise of waiting is that history has shown that the landscape of the league can suddenly change. Harden wasn't available, until he was. Complex three team trades are unlikely, until they happen.

They're relying on history happening again, which certainly seems possible, if not likely, unless you think we've just entered a new era where no player or team is ever going to be unhappy with their situation. Feel like Ben Simmons is a pretty obvious example of that not being the case.

In the meantime, if someone wants to offer a package headlined by a lesser player they'd probably have to pay a premium in picks or other assets which the Sixers can in turn use to make a Harden type trade offer when someone comes available.

Unless we get Portland's draft for the next 6 years, there's no way Morey is trading for CJ.

Haven't we already established this 10x?

If we get the chance to acquire Lillard, I'm sure Morey will try to get his hands on Covington too. He's not the player he once was, but still brings a needed skill to this team.

PHI out: Simmons, Curry, Maxey, 2023 FRP & 2024 FRP swap
PHI in: Lillard, Covington

POR out: Lillard, Covington
POR in: Hield, Curry, Maxey, Bagley, SAC 2022/2024/2026 FRPs & 2023/2025/2027 FRP swaps, PHI 2023 FRP & 2024 FRP swap

SAC out: Hield, Bagley, 2022/2024/2026 FRPs & 2023/2025/2027 FRP swaps
SAC in: Simmons

Lillard(32)/Milton(16)
Green(24)/Thybulle(24)
Covington(28)/Korkmaz(20)
Harris(32)/Niang(16)
Embiid(30)/Drummond(18)

It's not realistic to expect the Simmons return package to address every hole. If we were to acquire CJ, filler, and a couple first rounders then we should expect additional follow-up moves to balance the roster.

Attaching picks to guys like Harris, Shake, Korkmaz, Curry, or Thybulle should open up some intriguing scenarios and allow Morey to craft up some solid moves.

POR can switch out Simons for one pick and one swap IMO.

This basically tells me that Morey is still content waiting until someone is forced to make a trade, or decides to rebuild. If Lillard really has POR under the gun, then it could be them.

POR fans would rather trade Dame elsewhere and rebuild than trade CJ and 6 years of draft control for Ben, whatever that's worth.

So which Portland players are the Andrew Lang and Tim Perry fill ins to Jeff Hornacek (CJ) for Charles Barkley (Simmons)?

First of all Simmons is no Charles Barkley.

I can’t even have a ben Simmons comparison. Cause he’s not magic Johnson. Magic Johnson at least had a post game and shot free throws elite. He’s not Lebron.

He’s like a Lamar Odom but better defense and no outside shooting

So getting hornacek Perry and lang back what a fire sale of embiid looks like.

In the past year, Lillard and his camp have been thwarted on several leverage plays -- Jason Kidd as coach, trading CJ McCollum and four first-round picks for Ben Simmons.

It isn't even 15 yet and there are like 4 teams thinking of blowing it up.

And people thought waiting was a bad strategy?

I may be in the minority but I'd be very ok with Sabonis as the principle return of a Simmons trade. Sabonis can play with Embiid.

I don’t know. He still hasn’t gotten anything.

I wouldn’t have went this route, but it was a bold strategy, and he deserves the criticism or praise when it plays itself out.
