This would allow the raps to play the way I think they really want to. With the supersized line up. The turner, siakam, Barnes, OG, Fred line up would attack opposing 2 guards and under sized 3’s.

If you have a shot at trying the big line up now, you do it.

For the record...I really am not a Turner fan. Never have been.

That said...I'm just trying to find a way to get something for Dragic...to see if we can get in on this somehow.

Dragic will be bought out. People just need to accept this fact.

Turner is somewhat intriguing because he is shooting the 3 at a very nice clip this season, he's 25 still young, however I doubt we would be able to acquire him without moving a piece we really like.

I wouldn't touch Sabonis or LeVert.

Not a chance in hell. Siakam is not nearly as bad as Raptors fans make him out to be. It’s just the ghosts of the bubble still linger in our memories.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

a competent big who can stretch the floor and is young, moves his feet relatively well and still has poetential... even if you dont think hes all that his attributes alone are a godsend for this team so people who are anti tank should be all over this

Scraps for an all-star in his prime, very realistic.

It's actually not a fact, it's your opinion. I agree that, if the Raptors are unable to find a deal by the deadline, then Dragic will indeed be bought out. That said, I will be shocked if they can't get something for him. They got 2nd rounders for Davis and Thomas last year, and Dragic is easily as valuable as either of them. IMHO, it is extremely likely that Dragic will be moved for assets, not bought out.

I agree with this, buyout will be the last resort — if not anything else, Dragic’s contract is an excellent salary match to couple with outgoing picks/younger players.

like this skillset... its literally what this team desperately needs. its obvious. again, if you guys want to compete this year, the value he would bring to the team even if you dont rate him is more than say a guy with more trade value but doesnt fit the team as well.

him sitting at the 3pt line would allow scottie/ siakam to operate far better as oppose to precious/birch cloggin the lane, on top of that his length as you could see here, would be a great benefit. there are many plays in this package where if you picture precious attempting these blockouts/ rebounds we would get eaten alive.

Dragic is making 19 million and we would have to attach picks or take back contracts which could put us in the tax this year and next year. the buyout is the last resort, but I highly doubt a team gives up anything for him.

David and thomas were both making nothing last year and were also significantly younger than Dragic so not comparable at all.

That's actually a pretty solid offer for both teams. This draft looks pretty mediocre/below average. 2 games back of 6th as of now and Turner probably pushes the Raptors to that range.

Vanvleet - Banton
Anunoby - Trent Jr
Barnes - Watanabe
Siakam - Achiuwa
Turner - Birch

I really like this draft and there are a number of really interesting prospects in the lottery that I would be extremely hesitant to send to Indy. I'd trade Siakam because it gives both teams a starting player without a loss of any picks and the timelines are the same when they hit FA.

Draft picks can equate to superstars, especially within the lottery range. At the very least you are getting a controllable player for a few years. Turner is a free agent in 2023. You burn a lotto pick for 1.5 years of Turner, you better believe that this is a contender with the move.

Trading Dragic shouldn't cost us anything.

I hated the idea of trading Siakam, but if we can get Turner and not give up any of FVV/GTJ/OG/Siakam/Barnes its such an obvious move to make. His contract is pretty solid for 2 years and I think there is the potential he really shines playing C instead of PF.

A FVV/GTJ/OG/Siakam/Turner lineup sounds pretty great with Barnes running our bench unit (or swap Barnes / GTJ)
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

The board will probably lose their minds here but an OG for Sabonis deal would make some sense.

But we will be over the tax next year. Dont be too greedy.

Incorrect. We would be at 114,357,990 for 10 players with an expected tax line of 140 million. We would have 25 million to fill the last 5 spots. That is a very good cap situation.

Whether or not the trade proposal is realistic is another question.

not a fan of trading for either player, unless for some reason they're willing to just salary dump them. If we're going to give up assets for a big man, it better be a star. Otherwise, just find bigs from the bargain bin and keep working on developing our own young guys.
