I dont like McCollum, we have Seth who does 75% of what he can bring for 1/4 the price.

Seth a is good rotation player on a great contract and i dont see them both playing together much.

McCollum looks like hes already declining and could be a terrible contract in 1 or 2 seasons. We already have Tobias, we cant spend 70 M in Tobias+MCollum, that would kill any chance we have left at a championship in the next couple of years.

No need to worry about a CJ trade

Indy for Lavert/Sabonis or Brodgon. They look desperate.

Lavert is playing like trash this year and Sabonis sucks. Brogdon is good, but ehh.

Okay, here’s a crazy one kinda out of left field. I haven’t quite figured out how the picks would work, though.

Dallas trades Kristaps Porzingis (3 years/31.6 per) for Tobias Harris (3/35) and Matisse Thybulle.

Portland trades Dame and Greg Brown for Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, swap rights in 22 and 24, unprotected 1st in 2023 and top-4 protected 1st in 2027.

Philadelphia trades Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, swap rights in 22 and 24, unprotected 1st in 23 and top-4 protected 1st in 27 for Damien Lilliard, Kristaps Porzingis, and Greg Brown.

Damien Lilliard/Seth Curry
Danny Green/Shake Milton
Georges Niang/Furkan Korkmaz/Greg Brown
Kristaps Porzingis/Paul Reed/Charles Bassey
Joel Embiid/Andre Drummond

Yea, there just isn't much out there I guess. Not really a fan of CJ, honestly is he that much better than Curry? Hes better defender I guess. Not sure where else they go. Its to bad Ben just can't come back, the team has shooters all around, he could fit right back in.

Lillard means attendance and sponsors for the blazers.

It could be valuable from a business standpoint to retain him at that money.

The franchise is doom the minute he leaves

Lillard is asking the Blazers to extend him, and then tear it down and rebuild around him

This has to be Dame trying to force the Blazers to trade him so they are the bad guy, not him.

Unless it's for Simmons straight up, pretty sure I'm out on Dame.

Lillard is in the first year of a 4 year deal so no idea why an extension is even being discussed

I might even think twice on that right now.

Lets just get this thing done for Fox like I've been saying for months and get on with the show.

Im guessing this is the article. Is he saying he didn't ask for that extension?

Too much smoke coming out from Lillard's camp to have all of it be made up, it just seems that Dame sucks at the whole powerplay thing.

Blazers are owned by Paul Allen's trust, they really don't have to make money so paying him is more of a cap clogging issue than any owner going broke.

Seems like Dame pretty much shanked poor CJ, geez.

Don't want Porzingis in any form, I'd much rather a deal with San Antonio at this point, though my best guess is that Sacramento or a trade for Ingram is how Simmons finally moves (possibly a three teamer).

Brogdon cannot be traded this year and Golden State was rumored to be interested in Sabonis who is an incredible fit for them and they have plenty of recent lottery picks to get him if they want him.

And that's not just because he's an unwilling shooter or he doesn't want to be here. He's a 25 year old player on a max contract, so there are only a few teams in the league who are interested in him and have the assets to acquire him.
A three-team trade is also difficult because there aren't that many teams in the league that have a stud player (who fits the Sixers need) and are willing to blow it up and start over again with a bunch of 1st round picks.

Under the current landscape maybe, but the whole premise of waiting is that history has shown that the landscape of the league can suddenly change. Harden wasn't available, until he was. Complex three team trades are unlikely, until they happen.

They're relying on history happening again, which certainly seems possible, if not likely, unless you think we've just entered a new era where no player or team is ever going to be unhappy with their situation. Feel like Ben Simmons is a pretty obvious example of that not being the case.

In the meantime, if someone wants to offer a package headlined by a lesser player they'd probably have to pay a premium in picks or other assets which the Sixers can in turn use to make a Harden type trade offer when someone comes available.

Oh I am not saying trade him now, I wholeheartedly agree with Morey's approach of playing the long game. However, just because a report from Neubeck says that Philly is not interested in CJ, doesn't mean we like him to some extent. Obviously sweeteners need to be involved.

I don't really see any other team desperately needing CJ to be honest, so no need to make a quick decision. Dallas might make some sense as they need a ball handler to relieve some pressure of Doncic. But I think they're betting on Dragic.

As I have said before, the Blazers situation is complicated by their ownership

The Paul Allen Trust is far richer than our ownership & there’s emotions involved

Yes, with Embiid and Tobias and Ben wanting to play the point guard, it is a great fit...and that's even without mentioning the playoff free throw issue.

What? Yeah Simmons plays off the ball alright. He won't even shoot. Pretty sure that's a bigger problem then Harris.
