You know it's bad when even Mavs reporters start posting stuff like this after games.

This will probably make you even angrier :D

Bench was 1 out of 15 from three point range. That is exactly as abysmal as it sounds. THJ 0/7. Wtf.

Richardson was terrible last season but he contributed 12ppg on .537 TS and 33% from 3. Bullock is averaging 5.5ppg on .440 TS and 26% from 3. Nearly the same minutes.

Exactly. And Richardson had 2.6 assists vs. 0.6. Richardson was, while being bad, still light years better than Bullock.

Went from Curry to Richardson to Bullock. Who's next? Adam Morrison coming back from retirement?

It's the opposite of evolution.

Wake me up when the leader has finished "playing himself into shape". He looks fatter now than at the start of the year, so it could take a while.

Why do you blame the leader who still, by some miracle, got to 9 assists and the rest of the team, -DFS, was 2/26!!!! :D Luka could have had over 15 assists today easily. It was brick after brick after brick.... Not to mention both Harden and Durant had to play over 41 minutes just to squeeze out a win.

I'm not blaming him. If you notice, there are two paragraphs with 2 different ideas. The first paragraph is the reason for the loss. The 2nd is the benchmark for when I'll start taking more of my time to watch games. I won't care more than players on the team and being 30 pounds overweigth doesn't make me feel like he cares. Winning is about effort and sacrifice. If I don't feel that the players think that way, I don't want to spend too much time watching.

At the moment, when he managed to qualify on Olympics, it was obvious it will be difficult start in the season.

That's the thing I don't get. He just got 3 weeks off. Playing in the Olympics should have kept him in shape.

I also take 3 weeks off during the summer. I don't take 10 pounds per week.

Every player take time off during the summer. Heck, every working person. It just looks like an excuse to me. Plus, it's been 2-3 months and there's still no change. It looks like it's getting worst actually.

Anyway, even when the team was bad, Luka was at least a joy to watch. It's harder for me to enjoy it right now, because I know he isn't at his best.

DeRozen didn’t want to come to Dallas. You always fail to mention that.

Yeah he (Luka) got a bit chubby, but why y’all acting like his extra 20 pounds is the reason we lost?? Despite his (over)weight he is still pulling the Mavs out of sh*t (most of the time). I agree he could get into shape and step up his game even more (hope he will), but that is still not gonna win us games when THJ and Bullock and the whole bench are playing like bricklayers

Mavs went in 2 years from one of the best shooters in the league to someone, who can be happy if he shoots over 20%. His shooting action strange and shot flat.

The loss is not only on Luka, he played well but he didnt do his job in the 4th. His job is to bring home the win and he just couldnt do it. He missed 7 of his last 9 shots in the second half. He gets paid to lead the team to wins and he is not doing that.

Luka isn’t the issue. Sure, he’s out of shape, but he’s far and away the best player on this team and if you subtract his contributions this team doesn’t sniff the playoffs.

Only Mavs are capable of finding even a worse replacement for a guy like Jrich. We both said Curry trade was horrible and people jumped on us. That trade is still haunting this team and will continue to do so. I even said, if Mavs make any trade better not be Curry, literally 3 days later Curry gets traded.
I completely agree.
Our front office and ownership is the main reason why an All-Stat caliber player hasn't signed with us in free agency.

THJ is going to have off games even if I wish he wasn't on our team. However, Bullock shouldn't even attempt a three for the rest of the season. Take a moment to look at his game log and how bad he's been at his attempts.

Man this team is just sad. The players that got paid specifically cause they can shoot, can't shoot. Not in a Mavs jersey at least.

True.

Dallas never made a run for him.

Yes of course DDR didn't say "i want to come to Dallas" but it means nothing.
And when it happened (Markaneen or Hield) Dallas didn't trade for them.
It's all our faults. Stop to find excuses. That time is over.

You have a team, which is supposedly built around Luka in a way that they are able to hit open shots, which he generates. If those players miss vast majority of open shots, you cannot put the most blame on Luka. Sure Luka could have won the game alone, but that wouldn't change much about perspective of the team, like we have seen in a series against Clippers, when he was in GOAT mode and still wasn't enough. On the other hand, if Bullock@co. were able to hit open shots, the game would have been ower in the 3rd and Mavs would have realistic chances to win at least 1st round in playoffs this year. If those jokers continue to shoot like yesterday, Mavs won't see playoffs at all, no matter how good Luka will be playing.

Bottom line, no matter how out of shape Luka is, he's not the main Mavs problem. Mavs need to start hit those open shots or season will be over soon.

Not many teams get in playoffs, if they are shooting less than 20% for 3. This game was all about not hitting open shots.
