I won't care more than players on the team and being 30 pounds overweigth doesn't make me feel like he cares. Winning is about effort and sacrifice. If I don't feel that the players think that way, I don't want to spend too much time watching.

That's the thing I don't get. He just got 3 weeks off. Playing in the Olympics should have kept him in shape.

I also take 3 weeks off during the summer. I don't take 10 pounds per week.

Every player take time off during the summer. Heck, every working person. It just looks like an excuse to me. Plus, it's been 2-3 months and there's still no change. It looks like it's getting worst actually.

Anyway, even when the team was bad, Luka was at least a joy to watch. It's harder for me to enjoy it right now, because I know he isn't at his best.

Problem is that he didn't have only 3 weeks of. More like few months.

Luka was the least guilty for this lost. This off-season looks worse and worse. Bullock might be the worst signing ever, both Browns nonexistent and then we have new contracts for THJ, WCS... Just unbelievable. And please people, stop saying that Bullock is the same as Richardson, because Richardson has looked as a star in comparison to Bullock. Mavs went in 2 years from one of the best shooters in the league to someone, who can be happy if he shoots over 20%. His shooting action strange and shot flat.

The loss is not only on Luka, he played well but he didnt do his job in the 4th. His job is to bring home the win and he just couldnt do it. He missed 7 of his last 9 shots in the second half. He gets paid to lead the team to wins and he is not doing that.

You have a team, which is supposedly built around Luka in a way that they are able to hit open shots, which he generates. If those players miss vast majority of open shots, you cannot put the most blame on Luka. Sure Luka could have won the game alone, but that wouldn't change much about perspective of the team, like we have seen in a series against Clippers, when he was in GOAT mode and still wasn't enough. On the other hand, if Bullock@co. were able to hit open shots, the game would have been ower in the 3rd and Mavs would have realistic chances to win at least 1st round in playoffs this year. If those jokers continue to shoot like yesterday, Mavs won't see playoffs at all, no matter how good Luka will be playing.

Bottom line, no matter how out of shape Luka is, he's not the main Mavs problem. Mavs need to start hit those open shots or season will be over soon.

I certainly agree he is not the main problem. This team without Luka is bottom 5 in the league. But in close games like this one, where nobody is hitting, he should be able to consistently take matters in his own hands. Whos fault is it that he missed 7 out of his last 9 shots? It means he had opportunities to score himself and he couldnt. Hit 2 of those shots and Mavs win. Simple as that. He is supposed to be a superstar and those players take over in the 4th. His teammates are not hitting so its his job to do it for them. If I remember correctly the league didnt even start last year at this time. It started around December 15 I think Damn, to think they were in the bibble only 15 months ago... Seems like much longer than that.

The Mavs could certainly win this game, it was there for them. They missed shots but KD was also missing in the first 3 quarters. At some point in the 3rd his shooting was 5/17 and it wasnt because of the defense. If Luka had 40/10/10 today they would have won but right now he is not capable of those numbers because he is out of breath and tired by mid 3rd quarter.

The Mavs is still do or die on 3 balls. But this team shoot 19% from the arc on 9 for 46 shooting. That's not a good number to win games. Bullock is just way too bad. Finally, the Mavs realize the need to replace Bullock eventually. Getting Ntilikina, Green and perhaps Eugene some playing time, then the Mavs might have better rotation by the end of the year. Hardaway and Bullock are just way too streaky as awful as Jet. Both fails the defensive assignments as well. This is KD and Harden, anyway. Can't expect too much. But against elite playoff team, elite defenders must be the part of the rotation.

My point was that he started similar slow and had the best games in playoffs.

It's obvious that fantastic Luka would have won games like that, but my point was that you cannot put blame on him, if teammates cannot hit anything. We're talking about open shots, which recreational players should hit some. Luka was great in qualifying game against Lithuania, but Slovenia would have lost, if his teammates were shooting like Mavs. It would have been better, if Luka was shooting another 13 stepbacks from the middle of the court than those 2 clowns tried to hit something.

Who says I’m defending Cuban? Obviously he’s done a bad job since 2012. I’m just saying just because the fans want the Mavs to go out and sign all these elite FA’s doesn’t mean he can, even if they had the cap room. And this has been going on LONG before Cuban even bought the team. Dallas is just not a destination city for young NBA players. Just because YOU wanted DDR doesn’t mean he wanted to sign in Dallas.

The Mavs have always been better at trading for talent, when they have assets. They had an interest in Markkanen but didn’t have the assets. How much of this is Nico’s fault and how much of it is Donnie/Vegas Bob’s fault? Nico hasn’t even been here for 1 full season. Let’s see if he can do anything at his first trade deadline before you lump him in with Donnie.

From what I read it was Maxi and a FRP not Powell. Either way the Mavs couldn’t beat the deal they got from Cleveland. Again, how is that Nico’s fault?
