Allegedly, talks were about Simmons for McCollum with other moving pieces.

We’re not getting into that. The writing seems to be on the wall: Simmons for CJ in some way. Portland will be even worse, while Philly might even take the leap.

NYK on the outside looking in. Most likely Randle finishes his contract here in NY, but that’s not a good decision.

I’m repeating myself, but we should probably trade Randle for a couple of really young guns on aspiring teams. GSW (Kuminga, Wiseman, Moody), Atlanta (Huerter, Reddish, Collins), Toronto (Barnes or OG), Sacramento (Mitchell), Memphis (Bane or JJJ). Imagine those teams with him. It’s intriguing.

Curry, Poole/Klay, Wiggins, Randle, Dray - I mean, wtf?!
Trae, Bogdanovic, Hunter, Randle, Capela
FVV, Trent, OG, Siakam, Randle
Fox, Haliburton, Barnes, Randle, Holmes
Ja, Brooks, Anderson, Randle, JJJ

These teams are ridiculously loaded with him up front.

For us it’s looking good too:

IQ/Moody, RJ, Kuminga, Obi, Wiseman
IQ, Reddish, RJ, Obi, Collins
IQ, RJ, Barnes, Obi, Mitch
Mitchell, IQ, RJ, Obi, Bagley
IQ, RJ, Bane, Obi, Mitch

IQ is not our PG of the future, but I’m assuming we’re getting picks in return for Randle in most cases.

He's laying the foundation for when the Trailblazers don't get Ben Simmons to say it's time for him and the Trailblazers to part ways. He knows the 76ers don't want CJ for Ben Simmons.

I dont think we will get younger high ceiling players for Randle. I will be surprised if we get players like Collins, Barnes, OG, Haliburton or JJJ.

I don't think we will get an extensive package with Wiseman+Kuminga too. By the way, Randle is not a good fit in GSW. Too slow and his game is too similar to Dray"s.

Maybe we can get Fox who is struggling this season. It would be a lateral move. But he is a better fit than Randle to play along with RJ, IQ, and Obi. It may be easier to get new players who fit Fox timeline and playstyle too.

Trading Randle for young role players is not a move our FO will consider (Davion, Huerter, Bane, etc...).

Fineeee... We'll take both guys and they can split up Randle / RJ / Obi / Mitch / Kemba / Fournier / Noel /Charl 1st / Dallas 1st / NY 22 1st / NY 24 1st / NY pick swap 23

Now everybody is happy

The team would look like:

CJ/Deuce
Burks/IQ
Simmons/Grimes
Knox/Saramic

IF the Knicks can get those packages for Randle they should definitely consider it.

I'd try to sell high on Randle. personally I'd rather have a draft pick from a team like the Kings, but that's neither here nor there; point is: Randle isn't really what made this team successful, it's their style of play that wins them games

That's not that bad, really, if you add in Rokas.

So, Portland gets Simmons, Dame gets his extension and Portland has two players making 90 million a year a few years from now? Sounds good!

If we're keeping Randle long-term, then we should look to move Obi for a PG. Obi for Haliburton? Anyone?

it's almost as if they should've taken Haliburton instead of Obi

I doubt they do it. They love Haliburton over there. Maybe they would deal Davon Mitchell for Obi...

I would accept any offer that does not evolve FRPs, Randle, Rose and the youngs to unload Evan's contract.

I think Julius can be traded. Teams see he has talent, especially after last season. They just now he’s not a top 2 option. He’s more of an enforcer. We saw Embiid and Julius laughing on the bench before a game together a few weeks ago. I think if we wanted to, we could trade for Ben Simmons.
Don’t think that’s the answer though, Philly pun intended.
Julius + Burks gets you to Simmons salary I think.

Fournier? Might as well throw him with Knox & Burks in a deal for John Wall.

The Rockets probably wouldn’t trade John Wall for Fournier unless we attached picks, the Fournier albatross contract goes on for a year longer than Wall does. They would rather just pay wall and have the books clear a year sooner

Trades to compete / revamp the team:

Trade Julius Randle + Fournier + Knox for Fox and Hield
- Kings get a player in Randle to fill their PF lack luster and open up their G roles in that current log jam they have. Plus, Hield has not been great fit in that organization.

Trade Mitch and Dallas 1st for Myles Turner

Run Fox / Hield / RJ / Obi / Turner

or if you want to tank

Trade Randle for Thaddeus Young + Keldon Johnson + Lonnie Walker + 2022 Top 10 protected 1st (top 5 protected in 2023)

Trade Alec Burks and Charlotte 1st for Isaac Okoro + Cleveland 2nd
