I’d think if TOR wants Turner, trade has got to involve Siakam (with more coming back to TOR).

IND wouldn’t want Siakam.

GS would still be interested in him, especially now that he’s back and playing well….if they want to part with some of those unused lottery picks nailed to the bench for an impact championship-level starter, something can be worked out…some version of the rumoured GS package from the off-season should get it done for TOR/GS/IND. TOR getting Turner + a young player from GS

The GS package for Siakam alone doesn’t make sense for TOR IMO, as I don’t see TOR as a team happy to have that many rookies/undeveloped players at one time and fully tank like that. But add Turner + a young player in the mix? Seems to fit TOR’s timeline, and would balance out the roster to Barnes’ benefit (no more playing as starting C when OG gets back)

I agree. I think it stems from a bunch of new 2018-21 fans who are accustomed to us being at the top of the east. They aren't ready mentally for a re-tool/build. While I think Myles is a great fit for our roster, It seems like a move you make when you're " Ready" to contend ala Gasol for Val.

It could also be that they believe the team is better than its playing and we do have a glaring hole at C. I just don't think these moves are the ones young teams should make, personally. I'd rather swing on a C project like Jackson Hayes ( although super raw/kinda sucky) should come fairly cheap and adds another dimension to our defense/offense (Rim Runner/Lob threat)

Maybe from Arizona, Christian Koloko? Maybe he's Willie Cauley-Stein 2.0?

turner says he wants something more with more opportunity. looks like he wants to command the ball more and be more of focal point of the offense. don't know if will get that in toronto though.

He maybe could. Based off that article it sounds like he runs the offence more when Sabonis sits (I really need to watch Indiana more...) and if he could be a high post guy for ALA Gasol that might be huge. But that article also is RAVING about Turner's defence. I always viewed him as a shot blocker but not overly impactful, but it seems lately everything I am seeing is saying the opposite. Again, I need to watch Indiana more.

Also... I looked into Indiana's stats a bit. When Turner/Sabonis/Brogdan play together they have a +12.4NRTG and a 99DRTG. They have been ravaged so **** hard by injuries but I do not think they are a bad team.

A random Reddit post I found said that in 2020-21 Myles Turner averaged 21/10/2 per 36 when Sabonis sits (and 12/7/1 when he plays)... adding a guy who could be a 20/10 guy and shoot 35-40% from 3 would be pretty **** valuable.

**** it. I am in. GTJ and a pick (not this year). I wonder if we could add Dragic and get back LeVert (sounds like Pacers fans think his value is like a 2nd round pick only).

GTJ/Dragic/2023 protected 1st for Turner/Levert

FVV/OG/Barnes/Siakam/Turner
Banton/Levert/Yuta/Boucher/Precious
Flynn/Champagnie/Svi/Bonga/Birch

Edit - probably reroute Gragic somewhere (Dallas) and give Indiana more picks/youth
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

That Athletic article was awesome. Personality wise, he seems like a Raptor for sure.

Wiretap has Cavs interested in Levert, maybe a leak with truth behind it? I fear we will lose out on any moves.

But then Doug Smith says to go for it, so we must be about to do something, right?

Nick Nurse gives freedom to everyone offensively. It sounds like they’re treating Turner like the Raptors treated Pascal before Nurse took over

Pascal said Casey wouldn’t even let him bring the ball up the court, but Nurse told him when he gets the ball if he knows he can do something to just do it

Same reason we’ve seen Precious’ game expand so much this season. I think Turner would thrive in a system like that

I think if the Raps were a 50+ win team right now and closer to true contention, adding Turner would make more sense to me.

But for a rebuilding team to give up legit young assets for him, when he's never going to be a top 3 or 4 guy on a championship team, doesn't seem very wise to me. He's a guy contending teams should look at especially if they can get him for a filler contract, a 1st and a decent prospect.

20m for starters is pretty much the norm.
Eventually we need an upgrade, holding a bunch of young players who may not be a star may not help us anyway. As long as we are not over paying. Turner will not be putting us into the next level, but neither we are giving up that type of talent in exchange.

As for contender, I think they are more interested in Boucher who has a much smaller contract, and Turner may demand more than a 1st and a decent prospect.

I'd rather give Precious a longer look before we drop 20M+ on a non allstar C.

Best thing you can do is pluck guys who you know have allstar talent but haven't gotten the full opportunity and need a change of scenery. Another Kyle Lowry-type find.

His usage is around 16.5% decent volume of 3s. That basically means he's a 4th or 5th option on offense and parks his butt in the corners. Don't see that role changing much here with current roster unless certain players are moved.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I actually think Sabonis is the higher potential player. He's already put up allstar calibre numbers.

I see Turner as a high end role player. Solid starting C on a good team who can block shots and hits 3s, but I'd be surprised if he ever played in an allstar game.

i see raps standing pat at trade deadline, with the exception of perhaps small deals (Boucher, Flynn, Goran) ...

Its what Precious and Birch would be asked to do if they could fulfill that role (corner 3)

Turner is basically the premium version.
Under Nurse i see him breaking out completely.

Sabonis is a 2-time all-star, he's the bigger name I think, and should cost a lot more in a trade. I'd take Sabonis in a second, but I think he's closer to his ceiling than Turner. Turner I think would fit our system better, being a lot more versatile defensively and more able to stretch the floor.

Sabonis’ passing and scoring would fit great but, Turner’s rim protection and spacing would also fit great.

I don’t think we’re in any position to give up 1st round picks.

All we really have to trade is GTJ/Boucher/Dragic/Flynn/Achiuwa/Birch. Don’t think Siakam/FVV/OG/Barnes/Banton would be on the table for either guy unless it’s a much bigger trade.

also why we are seeing Precious's offensive game come undone. yes he's opened up but its terrible.

i have to see it to believe it.
