If he's referring to MJ the GM and owner vs the player, he's actually not far off base.

I wish people would cut his air off meaning don't give him the attention he so desperately tries to get. He's a fool. I actually like his kids who don't seem to have his horrible attitude but this idiot needs to be ignored.

Im 100% with you on this. I first saw this earlier today and actual got a chuckle from it. I took it as LaVar just making a joke.

"When was the last time you won a ring?" is just such a hilarious question for anyone (much less someone of MJ's caliber) coming from someone who never played the sport professionally.

This would be hilarious if it was said tongue-in-cheek, but, sadly, it wasn't.

It feels like LaVar is trying to spoil the relationship with Charlotte to get his son out of there.

Lamelo has said himself that he wants to break the mold of jumping from team to team, and wants to bring a Championship to Charlotte.

But please share all of your evidence to the contrary, I am genuinely curious

Well, lots of players have said that in the past. You know how that turned out.

Evidence is out there for all to see. Just a little bit of knowledge of NBA history will go a long way.

I know I got you triggered because you are a Hornets fan. Sorry, didn't mean to burst your bubble.

I hope LaMelo stays and you get to enjoy him until his playing days are over.

Nothing is determined either way at this point, conjecture is baseless.

I think Melo could leave, but it won't be due to Lavar. If anything he seems to have a very apathetic attitude towards his dad's antics, he won't take the bait when reporters attempt to goad him into telling Lavar to stfu but at the same time Lavar clearly doesn't speak for Melo. The Melo/Lonzo team-up that his dad keeps floating out in particular is something I seriously doubt either of the brothers actually want to happen. ESPN highlighted their brotherly bond during the lead up to the CHA/NOP and later CHA/CHI games and neither of them has really seemed that hyped. Maybe they're just trying to be cool, but I don't get the sense either of them yearns to be with the other.

One underrated factor that will affect Melo, and a lot of other young stars like Antman and Morant, is that the owners are almost certainly going to make a move to severely curtail the number of star trade demands if not outright penalize stars who demand trades the way we've seen the last few years. I'd be shocked if the landscape was the same for stars demanding out in 2026+. The owners will insist on some sort of concession on that point and they'll get it because role players aren't missing checks just so the Ben Simmons' of the world can leave them hanging whenever they feel like moving on.

Ya, like the time Rodman got into Oakley's face and Oakley did nothing but walk away then act like he was gonna throw down after they were separated. Now we have Oakley tracking guys down in alleys because they said something about MJ on twitter.

Lavar will be singing a different tune by the time LaMelo is a FA. The Hornets will be a top team in the east and the bulls window will have been closed for years by then

That year when they cloned 8 Pippen's for their rotation was pretty sweet though. Too bad the clones only had a one year lifespan
