You send Simmons as far away from Philly as possible as the last person you want to play against is someone with a grudge

I think Joel will have bigger motivation to crush Simmons each and every time they play than just some grudge. Simmons you want to be a small ball center. Say hello to Joel Embiid. I think you two know each other.

Simmons is waaay too fast for Joel

Remember what he did to Gobert?

The guy is just enough of a psycho to do a number on us for years

Or he might never play again

Stupid to take the risk of trading him to a conference rival

Yeah OK, If the best trade happens to be keeping Ben in the East you take it, Would love to see the 76ers play Ben's new team in the playoffs. Oh wait come crunch time Ben will be on the bench so what fun will that be.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

The only top 25 guys that seem to be available and under consideration are Beal and Lillard, I guess. I don't see any of the other teams trading their top 25 player based on rankings I've browsed through over the past 5 minutes.

I know, but "trying" doesn't mean that the sixers will get that player.

As you said, lillard or beal.. Lillard is off the table. The only real option is bradley beal

Beal is not very good

Beal would be a fantastic return for Simmons

Maybe because he hasn't signed an extension and went public about liking to have control? Maybe Washington would feel better if they had someone locked in on a contract? All speculation on my part.

That deal was always on the table, Morey could have done it at any time. Morey isn't trading Ben until he can get the player he desires.

Lets see what players it is.

It's funny how all the other offers and counter offers leaked but in this situation we don't even know the teams let alone players. To me that indicates the talks must be serious.

Not sure I’ve seen his name mentioned much…anybody think the Raptors would sell VanVleet now? They aren’t very good and he’s soon to be 28 (not that that’s very old). But I think it would be smart of Toronto to sell off at least 1 of VanVleet or Siakam now and fuel a quick retool tool rather than let the team die slowly and win nothing with the pieces they currently have. Not sure how people feel about VanVleet being close to that top 25 mark tho…

Sixers Trade: Ben Simmons and Tyrese Maxey
Sixers Receive: VanVleet, Hield, 2 Sac
1st round picks

Sacramento Trades: Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley, and 3 1st Round picks
Sacramento Receives: Ben Simmons

Toronto Trades: Fred VanVleet
Toronto Receives: Bagley, Maxey, Sac 1st round

Thoughts?

No coincidence that the Wiz are having their best season in years while Beal is having his worst

He’s the very definition of empty stats

Watch him play

Does nothing on offence when he doesn’t have the ball and doesn’t even try on defence

We will have to load up on defenders if that’s the return

I’m pretty sure he could only sign a 4 year extension but can get a 5th year if he waits until the offseason. Not sure what rumors are circulating but my guess is that’s the only real factor influencing his decision.

I believe its one of Beal, Shai, Ingram or Fox.
But maybe only one or two of them are top 25 players in the NBA.

Hypotehtical. Hypotehtical. Hypothetical.

Would you trade 25-year-old Simmons for 37-year-old LeBron?

Green/Curry/Joe

I feel like it’s gotta be SGA given the timing of all this. SGA can be trade Dec 15 given his new extension and there have been some whispers circulating that the Sixers are interested. They could potentially be the 3rd team that Minny has been looking for to complete a deal or maybe the deal ends up being structured differently.

No idea why OKC would want even more picks and project players tho.

The Sixers can say that whole top 25 thing to the media all they want…in what world is Ben Simmons a top 25 player?

Maxim did have OKC as the most likely destination for Simmons about 2 weeks ago. Not sure what that trade would look like though.

Jokic
Durant
Curry
Giannis
James
Harden
Butler
Embiid
Gobert
Paul
Doncic
AD
Trae
PG
Adebayo
Mitchell
Tatum
Brown
Booker
Ball
Lavine
Derozan
Middleton
Garland
Allen
Mobley
KAT
Harrell
Capela
Sabonis
Collins

That’s 30

Probably only Shai is the one we’re looking at tbh. But don’t know why OKC would even entertain the idea they are better off with Shai than without. Gonna get a high pick anyway and no real big contracts.

Maybe if it’s Maxey + 2/3 Minnesota picks + 2/3 Minnesota swaps + salary for Shai, Presti wants this.
Simmons would go to Minnesota.

Remember, there were talks about trading Shai for #1 draft pick this summer. Shai is clearly not a #1 option on a championship team, not a generational talent. Not a potential MVP candidate.

Presti knows that if you want to win title you have a have that type of talent on your roster. As of now, OKC have yet to found out one (need more luck in the lottery). Having as many picks as possible increases the chances of finally get top 3 pick and grafting a superstar.
And they have more time to develop Maxey then we do.

We, on the other hand already have an MVP candidate and a superstar in Embiid. And Shai feet perfectly as a 2nd option.

Question is, would we trade Maxey and Simmons for Shai? I know Kobble and Stormi would. I guess I would do that trade also.
