You can debate whether that's the right course of action or not, but it seems to be the course they have chosen. So I doubt they trade their second best player for draft picks.
That said:
1) things can change
2) I am quite often wrong
so we'll see

I could see them trying to do something like Kennard, Bledsoe, Keon Johnson/Boston and a 1st rounder for McCollum. Portland saves 18M a year, gets a decent 2 guard on a decent deal, a young wing prospect where they're short and a first rounder.
Or maybe it's a 3 teamer with Bledsoe and the 1st going to Sacto for Harrison Barnes if the Kings fall out of the play-in race. Dame-Powell-Kennard-Barnes-Nance-Covington-Nurkic looks way more balanced, the Kings get a first rounder for Barnes and the Clippers get someone who can score outside of George, and can play McCollum-George-Kawhi with a center and then either another wing like Batum or Mann or even Reggie Jackson when they go smaller with Kawhi or George at the 4.

Detroit’s got a ton of seconds but can’t really trade a single first due to the protections on their pick to OKC.
But otherwise, what’s that do for Indy?

Stewart seems like a nice piece, beyond that borderline psychopathic incident from a few weeks back. Hayes still has “potential” and Olynyk seems like the kind of vet you could swing for added value if you weren’t interested in keeping him.
But ultimately that’s more of a rebuilding package, so it’s only interesting if that’s the path Indiana wants to go.

Very mature posting behavior.
It's also funny that for posters always clamoring for quality discussions, my entire reasoning beyond this one report was not only not acknowledged but deliberately misrepresented. I used to have a lot of respect for you as a poster but unfortunately you seem to have chosen to move into a different direction with your some of your posts recently (not even related to exchanges with me, to be clear).
Either way, that's now off-topic and I leave you guys to it on this board.

Texas Chuck wrote:The-Power wrote:Anyway, I'm just posting relevant information here (at least I thought such reporting was relevant – on a Trade Board, in a thread ]iterally called ‘rumors’). Feel free to just to say ‘bull’ and go on as if Wiseman is on the trading block based on... a desire or unfounded (i.e. never reported) conviction. To each their own. Maybe only reports that you'd like to be true or are in line with what you guess a franchise wants to do are relevant on here.
Nobody minds you posting it.
I'll be honest though when I saw the source my first thought was the same as money's--this is an attempt to bolster a distressed asset. But giberish makes a great point, that the most likely scenario for every player is they won't be traded and this guy has had it especially rough with being hurt, playing poorly when he did play, and lots of trade speculation. So smart to reassure him and let him focus on rehab and basketball.
But its naive for any of to take any reporting at face value. Particularly when its from a source we know is willing to tote mail for a franchise. You are allowed to take it at face value and Whalers is allowed to scoff at that. But a reminder to all because this gets lost a lot here for some reason--just because a moderator expresses a personal opinion in no way is them attempting to control the narrative.
