anything with a "3" in it shouldnt have bouchers name anywhere near it.

Boucher played fairly well tonight.
He was nowhere near an issue.

Love watching either one of Senior or Pascal pound the rock.

Why would you go for a 2 for 1 in that situation up 2. That makes no sense.

Iso is the play there -- run down the clock to 8 seconds then run your offence.
Hopefully create a better shot than that however.

because if thats the play you settle for you are putting pressure on your offense might as well get 2 kicks of the trashcan instead of 1

strategy was ok but I don't want Fred or pascal dribbling the clock down out top, need to let Barnes have it he'll make a play

i actually thought fred looked to pass to scottie off the rebound but pascal was right next to him and but 2 hands out saying i want it while scottie started going downcourt

No. You are up 2 -- the goal is to run down the clock.
Of course you try to generate a better look out of the iso you run when the clock gets down to 7 seconds. Some sort of drive and kick if possible. But going for a 2 for 1 is certainly not the answer.

Of course you try to generate a better look out of the iso you run when the clock gets down to 7 seconds. Some sort of drive and kick if possible. But going for a 2 for 1 is certainly not the answer.

consider the mathematics

2 chances at a 20% shot is better than 1 chance at a 20% shot
either way you force yourself to get a stop 1 time

expected value in a vacuum is always going to be better with the 2-for-1 option

please understand that this is being said with hindsight - knowing that trashcan shot from pascal was the result after wasting the clock

pascal showed us all last season that he cant get it done in an iso at the last minute he was like 1 for 13 in the clutch last year

id rather see boucher pull up a 3pointer with 32 seconds left than watch pascal do that in the iso again

let me rephrase
i'd rather take the worse strategy than iso pascal in the clutch. like, iso pascal in the clutch is a worse strategy than the 2-for-1 at the wrong time to 2-for-1

Will have to agree to disagree.
I agree on the math of a 2 for 1 anytime in the first 3 quarters.

It becomes a little more complicated when the other team can purposely foul to create more possessions which happens at the end of the fourth. You take a quick shot there and its going to be a 2 for 2.

I would like to give those clearout plays to GTJ a little more going ahead. At least when Pascal is not having a good game

great call on the fouls forcing 2 for 2, but the free throws are theoretically a better percentage and it ruins my joke!
