You either think he's an asset or you don't. You don't get to claim he sucks and then get him at a price where he actually does. Other teams exist.

Ben was ranked anywhere from #16-#25 Best player in the nba by all major publications heading into the 20-21 season. Yes he had a regrettable stretch in the Hawks playoff series but he was also a big part of the Sixers being the Top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Of all the 25 + under guys his Win Share Rating is among the best of everyone, slightly better than Embiid. It wasnt a coincidence that the Sixers went from a 28 Win team to a 52 Win team Bens first year of playing . Bens positive intangibles far outweigh his liabilities.

If Ben/Klutch dont strong arm Morey the Sixers are probably 19-7 instead of 14-12. Simmons+ Embiid .675 winning percentage together. Embiid without Simmons? Meh and thats what Im selling if Im Morey.

win shares aren't a real thing. You know who is leading the 2016 draft in win shares per 48? Yahcob Purtle.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2016.html

sort by winshares per 48

It's just a plus minus stat that favors tall guys who get rebounds. Half of the dudes leading the draft in winshares are bigmen that are no longer even in the NBA.

1 of 2 things is going to happen.

1. You're going to eat crow. Morey gets a package he perceives as fair value

OR

2. Ben Simmons is going to sit for the next 4 years.

Theres not going to be any trade where Morey/Sixers lose their shirt imo. This fiasco is personal.

Pels wanna tank now that Zion is out. Trade Ingram rest Simmons mentally for the year… high pick plus those two back next year makes a lot of sense for them.

Can knock your heads against the wall to come up with a good name. One better than Kyrie for the Sixers doesn't exist.

I know people soured on him because of his vaccine stances or whatever, but he's an elite ball handler, scorer, and shot creator. You aren't going to get anyone with his skill package for Simmons.

And if worst comes to worst and he gets COVID, just send him to Dr. Rogan in Austin to get him healed up quick.

This ship has probably sailed with Golden State looking like maybe the best team in nba but Id put together a package around Ben for Jordan Poole + Andrew Wiggins.

GS has Klay coming back which may cut into Poole/Wiggins minutes minutes . Ben feeding Steph/Klay is scary, add his defense? Thats a potential nightmare for the nba.

Raptor fans are known to be the most delusional fans on realgm. That is just a fact. FVV is an untouchable? Lol.

If you don't want Simmons just say so.

When was your last Chip again, oh right the Raptors were not even in the league and I was 76ers DR J fan. When a chip before you open your mouth. Like you get rid of Butler to sign Harris to a max, nice move

FVV is a nice player, but we really don't need another small guard that other teams can target in the playoffs. There is also not a salary match between Siakam plus FVV for Simmons. FVV and OG were a proposed deal/rumor months ago and works salary wise. Siakam would be a nice get for Simmons, though not sure of his fit unless we move Tobias too.

Kyrie has now missed a half season in back to back years because of personal reasons not related to an injury. Dude is damaged goods and not worth it.

Would this lineup compete in the east?

Maxey
McCollumn
Levert
Tobi
Jo

Curry
Drummond
Niang
Kork
Shake
Hopefully make a trade/buyout signing of a 3/D SF to be 8th man

3 team trade where Portland gets Sabonis and Tyese for McCollumn, Ben goes to Indiana and we get Levert, McCollumn and maybe a Indy 1st

They dont need a star to compete in the east. One quality player would do it if it was the right guy. They are better then they are playing right now. Not a good as the pre covid team was but they are better then they are at the moment. If they could bring in one legitimate NBA starter they would be 3 or 4th in the east by the end of the year. Doesnt have to be a star just a legitimate starting player.

"Compete" as in have a chance to play in the 2nd round? Sure. "Compete" with Brooklyn/Milwaukee? Hell no.
