If Zion refuses the max and gets the QO, he has to be committed to an asylum. He is some pounds away from early retirement.

Maybe the Pelicans should be committed to an asylum if they give a morbidly obese and chronically injured bust a max contract

I mean we are in year 3 now and he’s ballooned up to 330 lbs and has a bad foot and can’t play

Do the pelicans really want to keep doing this

That's the point. If they think there is at least 50% chance of Zion being healthy, they will give him the max. It's too hard for a small franchise like them to have a really impactful star.

If even the Pelicans are trying to get rid of Zion, it's better we give up on him too.

I can’t help but wonder if Zion was actually on this team and we were in year 3 of him being a blimp on the sideline how many people would be excited about giving him a max extension right now

My guess is everyone would be desperate to trade him

I am kind of giving up and beginning to accept the tanking. But what price you would sell the players?
Randle (I still think it's improbable Front Office does it): FRP or good young player + fillers.
Rose: FRP or good young player
Evan: any shorter contract
Kemba: any expiring or a cheaper vet
Mitch: FRP or good young player
Noel: any expiring or a cheaper vet
Burks: 2 seconds or a useful younger player

I would hold RJ, IQ and Obi they will improve their value with more playtime and usage. Except it if to be a part of a package to a star potential young player.

This seems like a move we would do

Fournier
Kemba
Noel
Knox
Mitch

For

Siakam
FVV

With a multiple picks heading to TOR.

Siakam
Randle
RJB
?
FVV

won’t ever be a legitimate contender but might have a few 50 win seasons at it’s peak, flame out in the 2nd round.

Idk it Saturday night and I’m randomly just playing with the trade machine

That’s only because everyone would think we could get Embiid or Ja or KD for him.

Just my opinion but if the Knicks really wanted to make a trade, they should hit up the Spurs. They have a lot of decent guard depth on cost effective deals. While the Knicks have a lot PF and Center depth on cost effective deals. They could probably help each other out. Also Thibs and Pop seem close enough that I doubt the trade would be hostile.

I don't think we see a Randle trade for several reasons, including that he only becomes trade eligible right before the trade deadline.

What about an off-season trade on Randle, Noel, plus something (late first?) for Towns? Then roll with a Towns, Obi front court?

Could also pull that off in February, or, in February, do Towns for Randle, Mitch and Knox.

I don’t think they want Fournier— I think they want legit centers /and flexibility.
I would trade Noel/Taj/kemba +a pick for Siakam
This way we still have Randle to get us the next best guard/wing available.

Mitch/Siakam
Siakam/Obi
RJ/Burks
Burks/Quick/Grimes
McCollum/Rose
This team is tops defensively —Siakam much easier to build around even though his salary is frightening

If somehow U could get Lavine to promise to come and play with McCollum/ Siakam or Fox/Siakam then I’d send RJ in the Toronto trade if that’s what they wanted.

I’m not too big on just one player— I want a core— if you can come up with one or two players that match up wit Randle-/I’m all for it

Or say for instance Toronto wants Mitch and RJ
If skinny is trying to give up Towns — that’s another core that will work
Towns/Siakam/Rose /Obi/Grimes
—- that’s steam Beal might want to join

Just saying -Knicks have options

Pacers front office should get fired on the spot if they take that deal

This is why I should be the POBO and not that fckhead Leon Rose.

I mean, would I throw in a first rounder or a couple second rounders or one of each? Sure. I'm not sure if the Pacers are going to do better than that. It's not like they were winning with Myles Turner either. Until we know what other teams are willing to put up in the trades, we won't really know what the market is for these players. We could be all out of their price ranges if they're going to be greedy. I'm not going to mortgage the future. Whatever deals we make will have to be reasonable.

If Pacers ask for Knox, Noel, Grimes, the Hornets 1st and a couple 2nd round picks are you doing it?

Not with Grimes in it. They get MItch. They'll need a young center to rebuild with anyhow. I'm not giving up Obi or Grimes.

Since when did Turner have the value of KAT?

Feels like he's starting to get a little over valued. But that's the risk of desperation.

Hield and Bagley are being shopped by SAC.

I'd take a swing at Bagley. The kid is super talented, he hasn't been able to reach his potential with those clowns.

lot of talk about Turner, but I wouldn't mind taking a shot on Jalen Smith, who I comp'd to Turner pre-draft

Suns inexplicably declined his 3rd year option (rarely happens for lotto picks). he hasn't really been given a chance in Phoenix. haven't seen a reported reason for why they declined his option, but there's speculation it was b/c of luxury tax reasons
