Re: General Boston Sports Thread, Phase 2
If you want to have some fun, go spend a little time reading the message boards of the Bills. They are a complete mess right now. They are all over the board. From the extreme desperate side of blowing the team up and starting over, to the extreme dillusional side - the Bills are still by and far the best team in the league - you will see more ridiculous excuses and takes than you have seen in a long time. (oh, and btw, apparently Mac Jones is still one of the worst QB's in the league, and any college QB can easily do what he does.
)
I never post on other teams boards, but I do enjoy reading what they say.

Lol I been reading those too pretty funny one guy said the bills will melt at just the mere sight of Tom Brady next week. Everyone wants th OC fired and the coach sucks. They think Mac sucks it’s great I hope he throws all over them in game 2.

Re: General Boston Sports Thread, Phase 2
Peyton said he broke down Jones's performance, and he reached out, quarterback to quarterback, to see if he thought the analysis was fair.
"I texted it to him, and I say, 'Mac tell me if I'm way off on anything. Tell me if you don't like anything,'" Peyton said. "That was on a Wednesday. He responded back on Friday, and he says, 'Peyton, I don't check my phone during the week. I'm sorry I'm just now getting back to you. I watched it. It's all good.'"

Bills down to the Bucs 24-3, in the 3rd.
Patriots may be sitting on a 2 game cushion, in the AFC East.
Not sure of the Tie-Breaker Rules. But 3 teams are 9-4.

Re: General Boston Sports Thread, Phase 2
Wow, the Bucs almost blew it big time. Thanks Tom for helping the Pats get a bigger cushion!
I took a quick peak over on the Bills boards. Apparently the refs hate them more than any other team in the league, and of course the league wants a Pats / Bucs SB more than anything else (therefore the obvious hate of the refs towards them).

No doubt. KC is explosive. Gotta play them at home and let them tangle up for a game or 2 vs the other good afc teams.
Man the Pats are fun to watch. Philips Duggar Stevenson Bourne fun fun team. What a tremendous turnaround. Oh and redsleeves, Hightower, van noy and Collins hahaha are you kidding me? Oh an don't sleep on Taylor as that 3rd down back. Really balanced team throughout.

Jones didn't fit the profile. Now he's ours. I like the pic of him in the locker room after winning the national championship. Holding the trophy, big stogie, with no shirt no muscles and a paunchy gut. Like a pic from the 1960s. Really happy for the kid, his teammates and the fans.

Re: General Boston Sports Thread, Phase 2
Tough loss, but weirdly encouraging. Penalties killed us, which on a Belichick coached team I don't think will be a long-term issue.
Mac looked pretty good in the second half. That first pick was poor decision making, but also a great play by Leonard. That second pick was just an absolutely unreal play by Okereke. Some stuff to learn from there, but not an indictment against Mac's abilities.
Take away the blocked punt for a touchdown (again a very un-Patriots type of play given their usual special teams prowess) and this game is very very different. Colts deserved the win, but it wasn't a blowout or a situation where we were completely outclassed. Patriots held their own for large swaths of the game.
Stevenson has been a beast, but I'd hope the run game would've done better with Harris back there as well.
Felt like a coaching loss, which is rare with the Pats. Colts dared Mac to beat them and Bill didn't loosen the reigns and kept hammering away with an ineffective run game. Didn't gamble on that late 4th down, which honestly you can't complain about much after the Chargers fiasco against the Chiefs. And just could never dig ourselves out of that big hole we got into out of the gate.
If we face off against the Colts in the playoffs I'd still be confident in our chances.

Pathetic performance all around josh Allen made it rain again in foxborough. Bills didn’t punt once.

Re: General Boston Sports Thread, Phase 2
Bills played great, Pats didn't. Couldn't convert on 3rd down, couldn't stop the Bills in key 4th downs.
It is what it is. This team has to be firing on all cylinders to win and they haven't been for the last 2 weeks. On to the Jaguars.
