We doing something good defensively past five games. Not sure what exactly but teams struggle to score vs us.

Pistons are bad, but the defense has been terrific in the 4th. Claxton and Brown have been immense.

The Good: Our defense is really good. KD is a monster. Cam looks good. Claxton is a really a difference maker at the 5.

The Bad: We really need Joe to come back and Marks has got to get another offensive player on the roster. Our bench got outscored pretty badly

Good win tho

Claxton coming in for Aldridge changed the entire defense, he really is a difference maker.

This is our year in a nutshell, scrappy defense with KD centric offense. At this point I'm for trading Harden back for Jarrett Allen + Garland, just kidding but really I wouldn't be mad if it happened.

- I liked how shameless KD was chasing that 50. He isn't that sort of player that puts up huge volumes so when he does we need to make it matter for him. This will help in the MVP case

- Clax and Brown were great and I'd like to see them get an extended amount of PT for a period, they both have good chemistry with Harden and even without Harden showed out and brought energy. I mean they were contributors to our dominant team last season so I'd give them the chance to repeat that(even if this is an entirely different team)

- Cam needs to play, he's probably our 2nd most dynamic scorer even with Harden out there and I dont think his defense is terrible at all.

KD's 51, Clax's D and Cam Thomas are three reasons we won this game, in that order. Everyone else was contributing when needed, ala Brown and Mills. I can tell you right now with that defense, we will beat these so called top teams in the league; it will be fun watching Paul and/or Curry have a hard time running the pick and roll. I love the defense and you can tell Detroit just struggled in the fourth to not only score but they couldn't thrive in the paint either. We need Claxton, he is a keeper.

Let me just say that Claxton's Defense changes the dynamic for the Nets. So much so that teams are struggling mightily to score against us in the fourth. That balance between LMA and Clax is working.

It's the Clax effect. LMA is our offense at the 5 while Nic is our D. Nic's D is far superior as much as I love LMA, but both are needed. Nic cannot buy a bucket and LMA easily scores while Clax defends the pick and roll exceptionally well and LMA cannot defend it at all.

Claxton's D is legit, his durability isn't.

IF he can stay healthy there is no doubt extending him for whatever he wants is worth it, even last season his presence turned a below average marshmallow defense into a good one.

Our 4th quarter D has been amazing lately largely due to Nic.

Mavs 4th quarter pts - 13
Atl 4th quarter pts - 14
Det - 4th quarter pts - 13

It seems like we are getting better little by little, the emergence of our defense has really helped us build as a team. We just need to beat a few of the blue chip teams to get the monkey off our back.

We got the Raptors up next, then a tough back to back with the Sixers and the Nuggets. It would be nice to run the table, but I would be happy with 2 out of 3.

Lol at KD playing the entire 2nd half in early December against the worst team in the league. This team is bad and is being masked by KD’s greatness.

No Harris and no Harden and stlll squeeze a W with great 4thQ D.look at the positives please. They are making significant strides defensively.

Cam is improving every game and already fits in well with the system. I know we want to see a more flowing offense but this is who Durant is. He left the Warriors specifically to play the game this way which is why we have Nash. It’s another reason why Kyrie is such a big loss. He is a gravity draw that allows Durant to be even more effective and vice versa. There really isn’t a replacement out there. Just hoping he comes back and if he does we will be golden.

A win is a win is a win. But I’m not liking this trend. It’s not sustainable.

All true, not to mention no Millsap. Oh, and there's a $35mil anvil hanging off the end of our payroll...

Our severely limited squad gutted out another ugly W, I'm darn proud!!! Go Brooklyn!

Defense and keeping KD fresh is what will make us a contender. KD is simply the best player in the NBA and clutch. There is no answer to him. We are shutting teams down with Brown, Bembry, and Claxton. Even JJ is a defensive upgrade this year and Griffin needs to take Millsaps minutes. When Harris comes back we need him off the floor in 4th quarters or just use him there for short scoring bursts. Play him with LMA and Harden to keep the floor stretched first 3 quarters as he is less effective at the end of games and becomes a liability. I would keep Cam playing with Durant. Cam is able to find his own buckets and those two are developing chemistry together.
