Finally--I mean honestly if Lebron and AD were out or KD Harden for the same thing they would have come to this sooner.

I think it might be a bit of both. Stacey King for instance was quarantined because he was exposed. Then found out later he did actually get Covid.

I think the general rule they are sticking to is back to back negative tests within a 24 hour period. Which is why Lebron who had a false positive, had 2 back to back negative tests which is why he came back right away.

Perhaps instead of the health/safety protocol placing a heavy emphasis on having a minimum number of players, they should also establish a maximum infected/exposed player count that also informs the team/league of the potential of an outbreak. Maybe if a team gets more than three infected players/staff/personnel in same window then they shut down for a week or so.

It would be interesting to know if Bulls players will take advantage of this break to get the booster. I believe the NBA has said that while ~97% of their players are vaccinated, only about 2/3 of them have also received the booster. Given what's transpired, the Bulls don't look like a team that's heavily "boosterized". But I'm guessing we'll never hear whether Bulls players had already received their boosters, or are in the process of doing so, or neither.

Israel has already redefined 'vaccinated' as initial jab(s) plus booster. People there who haven't gotten the booster are considered to be only partially vaccinated. Omicron is going to chase the rest of the world down that path, and probably rather quickly...

This break should help AC’s hamstring fully heal. We need him at 100%.

The league usually does. We carp, of course, but I will nevertheless take the NBA's executives over those from other sports.

I really hope we isolate the non-Covid infected players for these few days. We really don’t need AC & Lonzo going down and missing several games after this.

Hopefully Vuc and Coby use this time to their advantage.

Hamstring injuries can linger. Can take months to get to 100% depending on severity. The time off does help though...

But if it's the Omicron variant which is supposedly more transmissible then what would the boosters accomplish exactly? The boosters are just additional doses of the earlier vaccine that is estimated to only be 23% effective against Omicrom. Maybe after Moderna has a Omicrom specific booster in about 80 days it might make a difference. And it might be dangerous to keep injecting professional athletes with these vaccines. Professional soccer players are collapsing on the pitch all over Europe secondary to vaccines. A Scottish female rugby player named Sioban Cattigan died at age 26, many suspecting the vaccine was possibly implicated. These jabs are not without risk. Very few healthy athletic people in their prime of life have died from Covid.

I give the league no credit for this. It took pressure from outside sources to force this.

Exactly what I was thinking. Usually whenever I say this is probably good thing by disguise. It usually comes back to bite me as it never turns out to be good but I am hoping this time it's different.

Hopefully both Coby and Vuc are working on their shots and their games. Hopefully this break also helps Caruso and Lavine get healthy (Hammy and Wrist respectively).

One thing I do worry is that we had a great rhythm and great defense going back to back against Knicks and Nets and now that rhythm is broken. We will probably need another few weeks and everyone healthy again to get that rhythm back again. Usually when you have guys in and out, the defense suffers a lot along with the offense in a sense that we tend to turn the ball over a lot and be hesitant on offense.

Oh well, it's all about getting to our best by March and April. Also, this time off can give AKME some time to think about trades and talk to teams.

A lot of Hornets and Sixers fans not happy on the GB. But they weren’t missing nearly 3/4 of their roster like the Bulls. It’s not like the Bulls postponed all their games. They’ve been short handed the past 5-6 games already and the long stretch Vuc was out (good or bad).

Both situations suck but missing 11 is a bit more serious than missing 5-7.
And like you said they've already played a significant amount of games with players missing to covid.

Really ought to decontaminate the entire United Center to prevent the spread of Covid to other people as well.

I would expect that Zo and Caruso both have it, but yet to be detected. Pretty wild, but we’ll see what happens.
