These games have been pretty painful to watch, when I've been able to catch them. It's so painful to see Lillard struggle so much, and Nurkic has had a brutal game.

On the plus side, it was a nice surprise to see Watford have some nice impact while he was in there.

Brutal loss. Gonna say it, I don't think Billups is the man for the job. Thanks Olshey...

Dame is awful. people can blame billups and injuries all they want but the bottom line is the man is in his 30s and forget athletes like him that are north south players that rely on explosion and first step lose a step in their 30s ( and more likely to get injured). guys like cp3 and cj are west east types that rely more on shiftiness and skill allowing them to age less on the court.

he's been literally shooting us out of games for like 75 percent of games this year and he takes horrible fading threes.

when he is 34 we're gonna be paying him massive money and he's going to be shooting like 39fg...sad but very likely. I hope the org realizes this and tries to get the most out of him before it's too late...we are NOT winning with Dame as our best player... we already have great pieces in simons to take over in the future and nassir little. we tank this year to get a stud in the draft and get high picks and young talent for Dame.

Sunday night game in Portland with Jody there... Can't be good for her to see the MC seats more than half-empty while losing our 5th in a row. Blazers are starting to spiral, and are in need of that GM hire, if they want to turn things around. Our substitute GM's presser gave me very little confidence, that things are getting better under his watch.

Olshey is gone now and that's great, but it doesn't really fix anything... Our roster is still screwed up, and honestly just tired... SOS... let's get ready to shuffle some more deck chairs. December 15th is potentially a big day for the NBA, as many more players will then be available for trade.

Interesting to note: Almost all of our starters were a minus in the +/-, while almost all our bench players were a plus. I want to trade Dame for Simmons/Drummond and whatever else we can fleece from them. I want to try this for the rest of this season, as I think it would work nicely, and look to make more changes in the off season only if it doesn't.

CJ / ANT
Powell / MAC
Little / ROCO
Simmons / Nance
Nurkic / Drummond

I haven't been too impressed with Billups, though I think it's still too early to judge him overall. The big, glaring issue is that Lillard unexpectedly fell off from All-NBA 2nd team level to sub-All Star level, and that's putting it mildly. I still have faith that Dame can turn the corner, but knowing how many holes he has papered over with his brilliance over the years and seeing those holes exposed this year because Lillard (or his body?) haven't been up to the task isn't on Billups, IMO. That said, the lackadaisical play, the inconsistent effort, and the continued woeful defense do feel more like they fall at Chauncey's feet.

Overall, it just seems like nobody on the team believes that Portland can be a contender --- maybe that first round playoff loss to a hobbled Denver team despite Dame playing brilliantly was a blow with long-lasting impact.

it took Olshey almost 10 years to dig the deep ditch he drove the Blazers into. No tow trucks on the horizon and there will be no easy fixes. I have a strange mix of anger, resignation, and I-told-you-so-angst when I think about it. The Dame/CJ experiment was a dumbass idea from the beginning. Allowing Olshey to spend more than half a decade constantly plugging in role-players into the lower level of the rotation when the fatal roster flaw was at the top of the rotation was major mismanagement from Seattle. And letting Olshey pick the next coach was just more of the stupid same

even if Cronin can walk the walk he talks, which I won't believe till I see, it very well may be that anything he does do is too-little-too-late.

Yet the beauty of small roster sports like basketball is the difference on piece of good fortune a fortunate player choice can make. A young two way near all star front courter would work wonders for this team.

I would be completely shocked if he does anything other than get Portland under the luxury tax. Think a Covington for 2nd+filler type move. And honestly, Covington might be playing his way out of being worth a 2nd.
