By now, a career like Stoudemire's or Griffin's should be a good outcome for Zion. We might be looking at a Greg Oden situation.

I would be very depressed if I was a NO fan. It doesn't look good right now. You would hope that the medical technology/training methods have improved enough since then that Zion can be rehabbed successfully, and salvage some sort of nba career, but who knows.

Huge players (be it in weight, height or both) + feet issues = bad outcomes

I'll take Zion even with supposed weight issues and injuries

Embiid had to sit out his first 2 seasons because of foot issues and then tore his meniscus his rookie season. Philly gave him a max extension regardless and it worked out. Are the Pels and Zion worst than Philly and Embiid were? The situation isn't ideal but Zion has already shown he is an all-star player and the Pels have tradable assets. If Zion misses the entire season they'll have another top 10 pick to add to the roster.

And the Nuggets with Michael Porter Jr. I guess at the end of the day, it’s a substantially
Risky gamble, but these franchises do have more
insight than us to the severity of their players’ health.

As much as it hurts us to speak on DRose and his injury, he still is contributing intelligently and dropped 50 in recent history. I’d much rather take that than Brandon Roy for example. We don’t really know if big big Zion is the former or the latter at the moment.

So covid aside (which is a huge wrench in chemistry and record), anybody else concerned that the Cavs have basically overtaken the Bulls here? I don’t think we’ll beat them unless Vuc recalls how to shoot. Gonna get massacred by that front court. Not sure the preseason blowout matters any more.

Cavs don’t worry me. Especially in a playoff series. We would have two of the best players on the floor.

Yup. The hope is the bulls defense will hold and get Garland out of wack.

I think Steph thinking about his record too much. He needs to just relax and he will drop like 8 3s.

Still mad at Otto Porter Jr. I bet he plays more this season for Golden St then his whole tenure for the Bulls.

Yes you can say it was unlucky with injuries, or maybe he just didnt care.

Who knew that playing overweight on a bad pelvis could cost you playing time, huh?! All I know is that, after seeing him on the Bulls, I would not trust him on anything other than a minimum contract.

He didn’t care. He did when the Wizards looked ok and does with the GSW but he clearly doesn’t care. He has talent. He would look better on this bulls team but that’s not what he was paid 28 million to do.

I'm not sure if they need to blow it up. Yes, this season is already lost so they should aim for a top draft pick. Beyond that they should assess who the "keepers" are on the team and go from there.

As for Zion, I'd approach it as if he won't be with the team and if he is that's a bonus (of course I'd still work with him...but I'm talking in terms of working on the roster going forward).

Brooklyn has 5 players now in the protocol. We played them less than 2 weeks ago, which likely is how they caught it.

When we write about how we want the Bulls to destroy other NBA teams, this isn't what we mean.

Yeah there’s nothing to really blow up. If anything they should consider consolidating all 4,000 of their near expiring draft picks, but only after getting a good talent top-5 out of this draft and getting Zion back on the court next year (or maybe pre emptively).

Or they can cash out on Ingram and Valanciunas. Depends what the return is. Wouldn’t want to give them away for another slew of mid/late 1sts.
