And there is no way in Sheol Hades that we're trading Simmons to LA.
If the Lakers want to offer AD, I'd certainly do that. I can't believe Morey would pass on that, either.
That.... is unlikely....
Oh, I don't think that it's going to happen. I'm just saying, if the Lakers wanted to make that swap, the Sixers will be sending Ben on the next flight to LA (assuming he's not already there).

What separates great GMs from good GMs or bad GMs isn't buying 'high' on players. It's buying low and selling high.

After he missed two free throws to win the Hornets game a few nights ago, you would think he would just shut up and work on his free throws. Missing like that was so Ben like. But maybe even Ben would have made one.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

I hope Morey smells the blood in the water and extracts another asset along with Fox for Simmons.

I can't believe it's an actual possibility. Sacramento would be absolutely idiotic to trade Fox for a non-creating super role player.

Also the Fox quote doesn't come off as bad when you hear him say it. Its much worse written.

Lakers have literally noone else of value and the contracts have to work.
So why express interest otherwise? Do they think THT and westbrick gets them Simmons?
The Lakers almost certainly think that's a good enough offer. They're the Lakers. Wouldn't be surprised if they wanted the Sixers to add to Simmons for those two.

Yeah, if you want an example of this, look at the Sixers trades for Jimmy and Tobias. Probably pretty similar value going out, with Jimmy being the better player who was acting like a jerk, and Tobias being the worse player playing the best ball of his career.

Philly get Fox, Barnes, Hield
Fox, Curry, Green, Barnes, Embiid -- Maxey, Thybulle, Hield, Niang, Drummond
Kings get Simmons, Harris, Milton
Davion, Hali, Simmons, Harris, Holmes -- Milton, TD2, Harkless, Bagley, Len
Kings fans seem to be okay with this as well.
****, I'd swap Milton with Curry if need be to get this done.

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
I have never been thrilled with Fox as a headliner.
Hield also has been awful this year way worse than Harris. He's a shooter who isn't shooting well who plays terrible defense making 25M. Curry does pretty much everything he does right now better at a fraction of the cost.
I'd have to know what else was on the table but I'd prefer to look elsewhere. Fox doesn't have star potential to me.

I know we dont have a lot of options but i´m very meh on fox. I know he´s having a down year, but the man is a lousy shooter, shooting 0.265 % from 3 and 0,75 ft %. Besides that, he´s not that good passer too, with only 5 apg this this year. In context, Maxey, who isnt a real pg, is averaging 4.7 apg this year in the same minutes. I know beggars cant be choosers and all, but i´m not impressed by him, doesnt move the needle at all.

Well original trade is an exact salary match (or within $17k). So Curry could be added and Sixers would get out of tax.
If team wanted to avoid repeater this could be an option but I doubt they float out Curry if Milton is acceptable

He had 7.3 APG, 6.8 APG, and 7.2 APG the last 3 seasons. Doesn't concern me at all. The Kings drafted another PG last year in Haliburton and then drafted ANOTHER PG this year in Davion Mitchell. Having two "PG'S" on the court at the same time pretty much all the time is probably going to cut into assists.

It's LeBron and Simmons and Paul thinking they can make a powerplay.
Simmons has wanted to be a Laker since he was a kid. I have said this one million and one times. He tried to say he wouldn't come here but Colangelo assured him it would be his team and he was drafting him anyway, regardless.
I have read some stuff that even the Westbrook trade might not have actually been totally legit. Someone broke down the math on here and I accept, ok, if you say so - on another place I read, Nope, that should not have been legal, but LeBron decided he wanted Westbrook so, let's just fudge the numbers a little and presto! Trade Approved!
Simmons is getting *terrible advice* and this is another *PERFECT* EXAMPLE. There is NO EARTHLY WAY ON PLANET EARTH for Simmons to wind up in LA (again yes, I agree, if you're going to put LeBron or AD in the conversation, which is literally and figuratively NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN...)
But that genius agent airport-jersey-seller must be saying "Just refuse to play for anyone but us! We'll get you here eventually!' ... === Yeah, no, probably should have studied a little harder in school...

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
Fox/Barnes/Hield gets us done with Simmons and also gets us out of Tobias’ contract. I think all three of them would be rejuvenated in Philly and I like the idea of Barnes as our 4.
I also think we could still sign and trade for Harden this summer using Fox instead of Simmons if it came to that.

His 2019-2020 year he has similar usage numbers. He is just having a bad year. The other thing is guys aren't making their shots they are 22nd in eFG you would think with 3 PG those numbers would be different.
I wasn't convinced he was going to be a star prior to this year and after this year even less so. Haliburton has also not taken any sort of step forward either. I mean he is averaging less than 12 PPG. So honestly who do they have as a headliner that you see as a top 25 player? I don't. I don't really like the Kings roster and what they can offer.
Also I don't know what our current options are but the strategy to this point has been to let Ben rot until a star comes available. Moving to 30 players or top 25 players is already Morey making a concession I really hope he doesn't concede further. We are not going to compete for a championship by getting worse from last year and trading Simmons.
So if the offers aren't there Morey should pivot to trading for players who can improve the team who won't cost Simmons. Guys like Grant and Wood who we know are available and going out and signing potential buyouts like Ross. That should be the focus.
