Boston chose to get nothing in return instead of taking on Turner.

Turner is nowhere near as valuable as OG.

Similar to Christian Wood, if and when these guys are dealt, people are going to be very surprised with how little of a return these guys get.

Simmons & Flynn to Pacers, Siakam to 76ers and Turner/Lavert to Raptors plus Philly includes a future first

End of the day we allow Barnes more attempts top develop and get to do a mini tank to pick up another top player. Turner is signed into next season and we have our center and more bench depth scoring. Pacers get Simmons who they wanted in the summer and Flynn and Embiid gets his good buddy Siakam and move Harris to the 3

This makes no sense. Centers just don’t have that much value in today’s NBA.

The Pacers offered up Turner in a Gordon Hayward Sign and trade and the Celtics turned it down in a favour of getting nothing (trade exception)

Jarret Allen was sent to the Cavs for pocket change,

Brook Lopez initially signed with the Bucks for $3 mill. Guys like Dwight Howard and Andre Drummond bounce around collecting pennies.

Dragic + Precious + Flynn (or replace with a protected pick). Anything beyond that is an easy no.

LOL, Boston is a bad example! After rejecting Myles in 2020, he ended up signing Tristan Thompson to play C, and then when that failed, he traded for old man Horford at C, which hasn't worked out either. Bad move after bad move after bad move.

Ainge is a poor judge of talent. His trades and free agent signings were bad. Like most of his moves, he would've been better off not making them or doing the opposite. Clearly, he should've taken Myles when he had the chance.

Not sure what point you're trying to make. They signed Thompson to a 2 year/19 million dollar deal. They then unloaded Kemba's horrendous contract and a low value FRP for Horford who has actually been quite good for them.

Turner had 3 more years at 20 million a year left on his deal and Boston knew that Turner had little to no value around the league and that it was better to not acquire him and instead get nothing in return.

People need to understand that we are just fans of the sport and have no inside knowledge on how valuable players are around the league. Ainge and other executives do. If Turner had any value around the league he would've been dealt a long time ago.

Turner putting up some Precious numbers last night: 10 rbds, 4 blks (good), but 1-10 FG, 0-6 from 3 for only 6 points (yikes).

You're crazy if you think that's remotely true.
Pacers fans have been salivating over the thought of trading Turner+ for OG and here you are suggesting that we're the ones that would have to add??

OG has waaaaaaaaaaay more value than Turner. Every executive in the league knows that.

I agree. I think it stems from a bunch of new 2018-21 fans who are accustomed to us being at the top of the east. They aren't ready mentally for a re-tool/build. While I think Myles is a great fit for our roster, It seems like a move you make when you're " Ready" to contend ala Gasol for Val.

Trading for a 34 yr Gasol vs 25 yr old Turner is completely different. If Ujiri/Nurse think Turner is a good fit on this team, you make the move if the asking price is reasonable.

I like Sabonis. But I don't think we have the pieces Indiana would want that we would be willing to give up. Also pretty sure this has been deemed another stealth tank year with the FO lack of a Centre and bench depth. So maybe a win now move is not what we are looking for

Sabonis gives us much needed rebounding with good passing and decent scoring. I’d be happy if we landed him. All depends on the asking price.

Edit: what’s the consensus on his defense again?

ESPN's RPM, 538's RAPTOR, and RAPM all have him somewhere in the pretty good to excellent range.

Portland should sell the farm for Domantas. There must always be a Sabonis in Winterfell.

He is underpaid and under contract for the next 2.5 seasons.

I like the fit w the bulls. They could do Pat Williams, White and stuff. Lonzo, Zach, DD, Sabonis and Vuc is a great passing team.

Warriors as well. Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Sabonis, Green? ship

I would go hard for Sabonis. He makes us a significantly better half court offence and is a competent defensive C. We'd likely need to include a core piece and significant draft capital. He is 25 years old, has 3 years left on contract at a very reasonable number.
