Trading Harris makes sense, especially if Kyrie is coming back.
-Mills has proven to be every bit the sniper harris is.
-Harris makes 20 million. thats long term tax prohibitive and our only big salary to get back good pieces
-If kyrie is back, we have plenty of shooting (Kyrie, Mills, KD, Harden, Milsap, LMA...)
I think Harris/Claxton for Turner and Holiday or Duarte could make some sense. we get back a lesser shooter but still a shooter and get turner who spaces the floor at the 5.
I dont love turner but he is a hedge between LMA (spacing/shooting) and claxton (defense). its been debated if he is a positive defensively despite his shot blocking, but he is sitll better then LMA/Blake on D and can shoot. he is no claxton defensively though so we would lose that.
I dont think we have enough to get sabonis.

Trading Joe is fine if Kyrie gets vaccinated
if not, then I'm not sure I like the idea.

Turner is the shooting big we need, he would open Hardens game up fully. Kyrie is coming back and like mentioned we have Mills. The benefit here is what happens to Harden and the now open wings.

Our only 2 real trade assets are Harris and Claxton. It makes sense that their names are out there. Especially Claxton who is going to be a RFA this summer and we're deep in the tax.
Honestly I have no idea what the team could be looking for. Kyrie is a huge question mark and changes the whole dynamic of our team. LMA's resurgence is a twist. I think fully healthy the team's big hole is a backup 4 who can play 5 in short spurts. Jeff Green type basically that lets us switch everything + stretches the floor.

Scheduled loss incoming, but TBH im interested in seeing a Harden, Mills, Brown, KD, Claxton lineup. Seems fearsome.

I like the idea of more of an allen type. given harden a lob threat. teams arent cheating off shooters to guard harden, they are cheating off bigs too

Welp, it was fun being in first place while it lasted. I expect more guys to test positive, + there is no way KD and Harden should play in all of these games

We have Thomas and Sharpe who could be included as well.
I think they view milsap as filling the jeff green role. if we trade joe, i think it needs to be for something we dont have: A 2-way big big (i.e. not just someone who plays smallball 5, but someone with actual size).
Some other names to consider either as a centerpiece or part of a deal:
1) Eric Gordon. Having a great year. not in rockets long term plans. provides shooting like Joe but also another ball handler and offense creator. obviously played with harden prior. a VC4P all-time favorite. shout out to VC4P.
2) Jusef Nurkic. Blazers are a hot mess. looking to mix it up. Jusef is a 2-way big with a ton of size. Would add a different dimension. he cant be bullied and would probably help alot of our rebounding issues
3) Mason Plumlee. Nets have always loved him. we be a lob threat harden lacks. has improved defensively.
4) Terrance Ross. 3 & D guy. Adds above the rim athleticism and another shot maker.
5) DJ Augustin. another ball handler. maybe he comes in a deal with Gordon

We have the benefit of the schedule.
-our next 3 opponents (and 4 of the 6) are playing us on the tail end of a back to back, while being on the road.
-We play just 1 back to back in that stretch
-3 of the 6 teams are under .500. (wiz, lakers, nuggets) and those teams are a combined only 5 games over .500
-we get 2 days off before the christmas day game and 2 days off after
There is no way we should go worse then 3-3 in that stretch. we SHOULD go 5-1. we play mediocure and crappy teams on back to backs who have their own availability issues.

We have to pray that KD and Harden don't get sick though. That's the one thing that scares me right now. Losing one is an uphill battle. Losing both? Might as well forfeit

Protocol i believe is contact tracing, not necessarily a positive test. hopefully he doesnt have it. breakthough for vaccinated individuals is still rare. and i dont know for sure but LAM doesnt seem like the go clubbing unmasked after the game type either

if it gets to that point we will lose a few games. but we built a nice record. lets say we go 1-5 during that stretch. that puts us at 20-13 and still in the top 3-5 in the conference. Look at philly, they lost embiid, lost 7 of 8 games and still are 6th place and climbing. Maybe the bucks pass us but the bulls have more guys unavailable then we do and are unlikely to go on a big win streak. the cavs and heat have 12 losses RIGHT NOW. we would have 13 IF we go 1-5 over this stretch.
were good
with how strict contact tracing is it wont take long before the bulls thing will spread across half the league or more an all teams have htese roster issues

No. Somebody reputable tweeted that vaccinated players don't enter protocol because of close contact. For a vaccinated player to be in protocol means that they have either a positive or inconclusive test.

The biggest loss here is Bembry and LMA. We can survive though. Fully expect a loss at Nuggets but the others are winnable.
