We get a useful big and a bench scorer, they get out of some money. Unless this has tax implications which I'm never good at figuring out.

That’s basically 2 expirings for a bad contract and a role player that’s not on that good of a deal himself. I’d only do this if the Rockets also give us a draft pick or good prospect, which they wouldn’t do cause they’re rebuilding

We'd be putting ourselves deep into the tax next year taking that much money for next year and sending out only expirings.

I was thinking of something based around Gallo and Dragic because Gallo has only 5 million guaranteed for next year.

Let\s say Dragic, Boucher and protected 1st for Gallo and Reddish.

Agreed - Too much money after this year for guys that neither take us up a notch, or have a future with the team. Houston aren't good direct trade partners for us right now.

Reddish is a guy I like a lot, and think he needs a different system to find himself. Gallo's partial guarantee to use as a potential trade balancer at the draft/FA. I'm a fan of that package, but I think Reddish garners a bidding war that Memphis with their 3 picks this year, or OKC could easily beat us - as well as moving Reddish to a different division (in case he breaks out, it won't be as embarrassing). If we're involved in a bigger deal that garners another 1st though, I'd be quite happy if this was rolled into the return.

Flynn and a 1st for Reddish?

very intrigued by cam but doubt he's a masai or nurse type of player.

whats his wingspan?

7’1” to go with his 6’8” height. Definitely fits the profile physically

He’s much bigger than I thought.

I’m sold.

I wonder if Svi and protected first gets it done.

We can probably resign him for 4 or 5 years at 10 - 12 per. If he even scratches his potential, that contract will have a ton of surplus value.

He fits our timeline. He fits in our asset collecting. He makes a good back up plan in case Trent walks. He has a high-ish ceiling. And at that price, he wouldn’t be overpaid as a 6th man.

If we can get hi. For a future pick in the mid teens to twenties, sign me up.

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t mind it. Id kinda hope to expand the deal a bit to also get Okongwu from them too

Maybe something like Boucher + Svi + lotto protected 1st + 2nd. No clue if that’s enough, but I’d do it

Meh, not interested.

Thinking the Sixers, Blazers and Kings should work something out around Simmons.

Simmons and Green to the Kings
Hield, Barnes and Mitchell to the Blazers
McCollum and Covington to the Sixers

Yeah that's something I could happen for Toronto. Daniel theis isn't better than Precious Achiuwa or really Khem Birch especially when you factor in Toronto is going to be paying him $10 a year for the next 3 years. If I am them I rather go after Mitchell Robinson as a free agent or put in an offer sheet or Mo Bamba. The Rockets would have to add a lot more value for Toronto to take on too bad contracts for expiring deals and considering how bad the Rockets are I don't see them moving draft capital.

Like another person suggests Danilo Gallinari and Okongwu for Boucher and Goran Dragic plus whatever needs to balance out the deal within reason is easily better for Toronto

At what point is OG injury prone and we consider moving him for something good? He misses a third of every season and feels like his health is going to keep him a role player forever. Trade him while he still has max upside to other suitors?

Who says no?

Boucher, Flynn, Dragic

For

LeVert, Lamb

Raptors chase a play-in for what spot while adding some players who know how to put the ball in the basket, or know what to do with the ball. And not being a red carpet matador on defense.

Pacers begin their rebuild by slashing the extra year off LeVert's contract and get to see what they have in Flynn.

If I did this correctly, this is almost salary neutral while still being okay next year assuming the luxury tax is set at $145 million.

Levert is starting to come around. Pacers management knows better than angry internet pacer fan boys regarding his value. They arent looking to get out from his contract. So this trade is a non starter to begin with.

Embrace the struggle and rooting for a top ten pick, cause we’re committed to development and asset building right now.

Yuta, 17 power forwards, Gary, crappy Flynn, banton etc are getting as much burn as possible this year.

Heck, even our leaders, like fred, oj and siakam are still growing and learning.

Adding a guy like lamb today, makes us worse off two years from now!

the easier deal here is dragic for gordon. they save money by buying out dragic. we have to eat the extra year but we get an offense upgrade for the bench. maybe we can finagle a second round pick from the rockets, which should be a high second rounder for taking on the extra salary.
boucher can be dealt to another team.

If it was a chronic issue like a knee or shoulder or something I would consider it;
If you are missing games every season due to one linger problem chances are its not going to improve when you are on the wrong side of 25 but that hasn't really been the case.

Can't blame the kid for his Appendix as that happens once then the balance have been all over: eye, calf, ankle hip pointer, knee, orbital contusion, head, and of course a few games for personal matters since he started.

Also last season a large swath of games missed with "injury" lined up with us pick chasing.

Aside from last season he has played between 67 and 74 games a seasons which given how he he plays is something I can live with especially given how much better he has got as an NBA player. Even if we did want to move him, his value to us currently is likely higher than what we would secure in return.

Flynn and Boucher for Theis and 2nd pick if you think Theis at slightly under the MLE is at least a neutral asset.

The 2nd pick is around #35 and could be a gamble to get a big man. Koloko or Tristan Vukcevic? Nickname = Must See TV!

Out of the blue, it would be amazing if Toronto could somehow snag Derrick Jones Jr. in the offseason - could be a sneaky, Ariza-level type of player. You'd think the Bulls would keep him, but they're also going to be pushing past luxury tax with LaVine's extension. You'd think there would be less PT for Jones Jr. when Pat Williams comes back. He's already getting the MLE now, so it seems uncertain whether he'd go for the same again.

Return to Toronto Raptors
