GT: 76ers @ Nets 12/16 7:30 EST
After a gritty overtime win at home against the Raptors we have a day off and then face the 76ers. The available player situation could change before the game or it could stay the same.....
The first thought that comes to mind is Joel. Assuming things stay the same, it is going to be a tall order to contain him. There could be a lot of what Clyde would describe as "Posting and Toasting". We do have the sort of element of surprise with the Rookies being they may not have been scouted.
All updates welcome and appreciated.

Bruh this had me so pumped. KD really loves playing here and loves this team. He was gassing those young boys up all game long and they showed out.

This is a **** joke. We can't play with 7 guys.
List KD and Blake out and force the NBA to postpone the game.

I'm not worried about embiid on the second of a back to back. he gets gassed by mid 3rd quarter on 2 days rest, let alone a back to back. They just lost tonight in a grind it out game to a the heat...
oh by the way, the heat were missing:
-Jimmy Butler
-Bam Adebayo
-Tyler Herro
so its not like philly didnt just lose to a team decimated by guys unavailable to play.
I put our chances at better much better then 50-50 (assuming KD plays)
I'd even say that it may be sneakily advantageous that all these young kids are playing who get up and down the floor vs. philly who is traveling tonight from miami having just played a defensive minded battle and play us tommorow

Langston Galloway to the rescue.
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/265048/Nets-Sign-Langston-Galloway-To-10-Day-Contract-Via-Hardship-Exception

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to sign Langston Galloway to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception.
The Nets will have a projected $504,000 tax penalty in signing Galloway.
The Nets currently have several players in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

We can't play KD 48 minutes again on a sore ankle. He was clearly fatigued in the 4th against Toronto and fatigue is the #1 way to cause an injury.
I would list KD out versus the Sixers and force the league to postpone. Screw this

I think there is a chance the game is over by the 3rd and we can rest KD. i wouldnt even be surprised if Embiid sat. They have much bigger fatigue concenrs then we do.
there is always the nash factor, but philly may not even show up to play beyond the first quarter.
this is a game we should win without KD going 40+

Re: GT: 76ers @ Nets 12/16 7:30 EST
I think minutes per game and total minutes matter more then him going 40-48 minutes. The days off are important. Like honestly if he plays 38 or 48 minutes it probably isnt a huge toal on him if he is getting offday.
i mean if he plays 38 minutes 3 straight then gets an off day thats 36 mpg. Lebron has continuously said the days off matter more. no difference in 30 vs 40 minutes.
im more concerned his play drops with big minutes vs. injury. i worry more when he plays back to backs or 3 games in 4 nights on the road

I feel like you're just setting this up so you can blame Nash if we lose.
We're still playing 4 rookies. We have zero bigs that can handle Embiid. We got lucky that 3 of our rookies balled out. If they come down to earth, we're in big trouble. And our guys might have tired legs from the heavy minutes Monday.
We have a chance but Nash deserves coach of the year if we blow Philly out.

Not having someone to guard embiid is irrelevant. his entire career he has gone off and his team isnt success despite that. because its hard to win with an offense having a high volume center. even if they are elite. on top of that, he gets gassed late. if you told me right now he gets 45/15 it would change my view that i think we would win.
We have KD, they dont. We are fresh, they are not. We are home, they just traveled from florida. This should be a win, and a win we have secured on the earlier side. This is not as tough a game as we just had with toronto, who had a cake walk game the night before us and has a bunch of super endurance ironmen and young guys.
We already know nash is going to be awful. he will do minimal coach. roll the ball to durant and hope for the best. not call timeouts when philly goes on a 10-0. misuse his challenge, and not make any obvious adjustments. Blaming Nash is moot. he is a handicap going into every game.

We're still playing 4 rookies + 1 guy who was out of the rotation a few games ago.

And .... Kevin Durant.
Take a look at how miami just rolled out against the 76ers last night. i like KD/Mills/Blake and rookies over Lowry/Duncan robinson/dedmon and a bunch of bench fodder

Re: GT: 76ers @ Nets 12/16 7:30 EST
This is a tough test.
I'll be interested to see how we defend shooter Curry and slasher Maxey. I don't love Mills on either, but we'll need him for 36+ minutes. I think we can get away with him on Tyrese. DDJ would be my preference among our able bodies to face-guard Seth, but he'll have a steep learning curve keeping up with his off-ball movement. Kevin can keep Tobias in check without expending too much energy on D. The last two picks for the starting lineup are up for debate. I would love to see Cam get the nod, and we can hide him on Matias now that Danny no longer starts. Blake, not Nic, should be the one to face Joel. Claxton is most useful as a closer instead of a starter due to his conditioning. Sharpe, Edwards and newcomer Galloway will soak up bench minutes and attempt to spell the 1st unit.
Let's go, Brooklyn!

Re: GT: 76ers @ Nets 12/16 7:30 EST
Philly is on the 2nd night of a B2B with a there starters all logging 35+ mins. If the rookies can come out with the same kind of energy against the Raptors, the Nets might be able to tire them and out and make things a bit easier.
I wonder how much energy KD will have though. I really don't think playing him another 40+ min game is feasible. Nash needs to at least rest him more in the 1st half. He plays wayyy to many mins to start the game IMO

We are missing half our team including the one big that Embiid can't bully. Saying that this game will be over by the end of the 3rd is not only disrespectful to our opponent, but it places a ridiculous amount of burden on our roster. We should be hoping that we don't get blown out.
If Edwards, Duke, Cam, and Dayron can't give us the group effort we got versus Toronto, we are going to get stomped. And I'm not gonna blame Nash for that. We shouldn't even have to play this game, our team is experiencing an outbreak.
