These young guys played with energy in the 2nd quarter. Duke is good defensively he even got the big rebound late in overtime. Kessler Edwards contributed with scoring, Claxton had a really good game. Mills bailed out us including tying the game to force overtime. KD is of course KD, I still dont like the amount of minutes he’s playing but it is what it is. Blake gave us some good minutes. No reason why he was taken out of the rotation in the first place. Good win especially against the Raptors.

This is bad.

I think the league needs a good two week shutdown. Between Thanksgiving exposure, the infection level of the omicron variant and the pending Christmas and New Years exposures this is gonna get dicey.

If this were happening on December 5th instead of 15th, I think the league would have done the 2-week pause. Now that we're less than 2 weeks from Christmas, I think that Silver is going to *attempt* to bury his head in the sand and hope that the Big Money games will not need to be canceled. It's a heckuva gamble, not only with money but with employees' livelihoods and health.

That's why I'll never forgive Kyrie, even if he comes back.

Make no mistake about it, KD is only playing so much, with so little rest, because Kyrie left us hanging.

And KD is in his 30's now, not 25, having come back from one of the worst injuries in sports.

What Kyrie did is beyond selfish. For all of the above, it's despicable.

But man, Edwards and Duke. Whew. Duke needs to stop being scared to shoot threes, because he was a monster on defense and on loose balls. 10pts 13rebs 3asts 2stls 2 blks for Duke.

Edwards with 17pts 10rebs 3asts 2stls with 3/6 3pt FGs. Three and D.

Hard not to be excited that we have some interesting young prospects that know their roles.

he needs to either be not scared or more scared. if its not your game just dont shoot it. thats fine too

Then he needs to put the ball on the floor and dribble in for a pull up or a drive to the rim. They left him unguarded on that one possession. Take the shot. I'd rather he miss then hold the ball looking like a deer in headlights.

But thats nitpicking. He was incredible on both ends of the floor.

I don't think it will help. Omicron is about to blow up.

We clearly need to go back to the old protocols. Daily test, masks, distancing.

They need to ban fans from courtside and put some distancing between the players on the bench like last year. masks must be worn when not on the floor.

I think the NBA is being reactive and not proactive. Guys are getting sick. I really hate how the league doesn't care about the players.

What a wild game. Insane effort from the guys. People are going to worry about KD's minutes and stuff but it's hard to mind when you see how happy he was after the game. You can tell he lives for these moments. Dude is a TRUE leader. So satisfying seeing him take over for that stretch in OT while he was dead tired.

I gotta give props to Blake for that dive late in the game. His energy lifts the whole team up. And he was totally gassed at that point. That foul call we challenged maybe was the worst call I've ever seen. No idea what the refs were thinking.

Love how Duke played. I've seen a ton of Duke in college. I always thought he could be a rotation guy in the league. His stock plummeted in the draft because he was being asked to be a #1 option and lead guard. He's not that guy. He also has issues with pressure. He shot 39% and 42% from 3 in college. 80% from the FT line. Not sure why he was scared to shoot yesterday. He fumbled a bunch of passes on open 3s - then he started pumpfaking everything. Everything else was amazing though. Huge impact on the game.

Edwards started off VERY shaky. Missed a ton of rotations on defense and looked lost on offense. He settled in though and showed that he's a really talented player. Good shooter, 7 foot wing span, big time athlete. Really interested in seeing how he plays these next 10 days. He might be a perfect roleplayer for our team.

Patty is just an assassin. So many cold blooded shots. I'm glad we've given him complete freedom. This guy is a baller.

After a good night of sleep...I still don't understand Blake's 6th. I actually have to give him credit for not getting a late T.

It should have been an offensive foul or a flagrant 1 on Fred VanVleet. We could have challenged it, but either way good on Blake for keeping his composure. And we got the W!!!!

At least they didn't extend the season like the NFL... Talk about a real money grab / not caring for the players... Extending the season in a pandemic... That's a real microcosm of the income divide...

Kyrie looking worse and worse for abandoning his teammates.

We need him desperately and hes afraid to take a shot. How can you keep putting KD through this? You were the reason he came to the Nets

You don't know that either. For all we know is that we'd have great role players and attractive location. How long before top 10 player would come along?

Point is Kyrie is selfish prick that we've been warned about. I got banned in multiple places defending him. Now I look dumb af.

Why would KD leave Steph to play with DLo and Dinwiddie?

We gotta cherish this guy and this time. This sh** is rare. The level of joy and competitiveness he has for basketball, it's infectious. Like there's that talk around him like he's too reserved and individualistic to be a good leader... I get the feeling this team would run through a brick wall for the guy. He's the epitome of lead by example.

Side note: don't even try bringing up Kai as some kind of counterpoint to the brick wall statement (he won't even get a shot etc). Think about who Kai is and how a mandated vaccine is probably the hardest pill you could ever ask him to swallow.

I was baffled too, but I can kind of see it. It's Blake's hand contact that causes VanVleet's elbow to deflect upwards and connect with his face. Personally I think that Blake's initial contact was incidental enough that you look past it and call an offensive common foul, and disregard VanVleet's contact above the shoulders aspect.

EDIT: was going off of memory. watched again and blake's hand contact and the elbow are at the same time. I was wrong about Blake's contact causing the elbow to the face. The elbow clearly isn't incidental. I'd need someone to give me a detailed explanation of why that isn't an offensive foul.

1- never said KD would come here to play with D. LO and Din

2- I'm not going to question Marks. That man made me look silly on way more than one occasion.

3- name teams that KD or Kyrie were willing to join beside BK.

i think KDs minutes have more to do with nash being an awful coach and games being closer then they need to, and him not being able to find ways to score if he doesnt have multiple stars on the floor
