In no way are Lee/Iggy/JTA non-rotation level players. They are. But anyone outside of the guys we rely on every night should probably be in a tier where their minutes fluctuate based on performance. It's normal for bench players not to be consistent all year. But right now is definitely the time to be playing Kuminga, GP2, and Moody in some of those guys spots.
It's not a knock on them either, just the reality of roster spots 8-15 or so. Lee carried the bench to start the season. Now he's in a major funk, probably from combo of injury, newborn at home, lack of confidence... thats fine, he will get it back at some point, but for now I'd love to see his minutes go to the other 3 mentioned.
Without Ottomatic, that lineup suffers a lot. If Belly wasn't shy shooting and Otto plays, that lineup has been killing teams all season so far. The other 2 could be any mixture.
Yup. Steph/Otto/Belly have a +19 net rating together. And even yesterdays lineup works fine if Lee/JTA happen to be playing with confidence. Just the timing of Lee/JTA/Iggy all struggling at the same time.

I hope it actually pays off later this season/in the playoffs.
Lee was actually hanging his head and passed up a couple of looks.
Feeling pressure being a marginal NBA player with a newborn.
He's sweating out the January guarantee date for his contract. He's on the bubble and he knows it. At the start of the season you would have thought GP2, the other non-guarantee, would be the one sweating, but keeping him looks like a sure thing now.
I would think they'd have to keep him, as insurance in case Klay doesn't come back playing well or healthy.
And just hope his shooting comes back.
They're not going to get some G League or waived player who's going to come in and do better.
Unless you're saying they will cut him to save about a million in salary and millions in luxury taxes.
But Warriors have much higher aspirations than when the season started so now is not the time to pinch pennies.

That probably works better at home when they shoot their shot, always more difficult away from home.

Not saying they will go either way re: Lee, but we did count pennies when we let both Bradley and GP2 hit waivers, then signing GP2 back at min.
That is penny counting with the risk of losing players you want to keep.

Re: Warriors vs. Knicks 12/14
Lee when he isn't taking a dump on the court provides something the team sorely needs - a true 3pt specialist off the bench. The disconnect is between his performance and the minutes he's getting. He should receive a significantly diminished role until he hits a groove again instead of being gifted crucial veteran minutes.
I think he makes near the minimum and is a great 10th man chemistry guy with a needed skill set. You can do much worse than him as your end of roster guy - my issue, again, is that he's currently our 6th man when we have better options.
I wanted us to bench Oubre when he had his awful slump, and we really should have. Just because Lee isn't a handsome jackass doesn't give him a free 20mpg pass.

With so many knicks going into quarantine, hopefully nothing trickles over to the dubbs.

NYC is like ground zero of Omicron in the US, much higher Omicron cases there than the national average so far.
So 3 days until next game in Boston and if they’re staying in NYC for an extra day or two, going out, at least to eat, may have some risks.
