Ousmane Dieng is an interesting prospect but he’s struggled in the NBL so far. The same league that LaMelo and Giddey dominated. Gonna need to see Ousmane start performing better

Mark Williams is my current crush.

Way I look at it, we need two things. A real big, and a scorer off the bench. My preference is to get a true big, but using a mid first rounder on a big can be questionable.

Oh and I like that Koloko vid. Kid looks intriguing. Having a 7 footer who understands defensive rotations and puts some fear into people attacking the hoop would be nice.

Haven't read any reports on him yet but I'm really impressed by what I've seen of Johnny Davis on offence. The guy is a straight up shot maker. His pull up off the bounce game is excellent. If his defense checks out and his wingspan meets our criteria I'm buying stock.

Fits everything Masai looks for in a prospect physically.

Yes, mentioned on the Tank thread.
So far he looks raw (not dominating, not making the right decision yet).

The other player mentioned in the Tank thread on the NBL is Hugo Besson, but he is older.

Unless some of these prospects start performing I'm leaning towards some the guards who actually look like NBA players.

KD Davidson
Kennedy Chandler
Tyty Washington

But again all these guys have major flaws like most prospects in this draft

We're probably not pick high lottery again this year unless fred gets injured, but I really like wendell Moore Jr. Really good decision maker, and defender who is versatile. He's not a great shooter, but the raptors have shown to develop that. He's also tough and can do some creation for you in the half court and transition.

https://www.si.com/.amp/nba/2021/12/16/nba-draft-big-board-jabari-smith-paolo-banchero-chet-holmgren

Sports Illustrated's first big board is up and they have Johnny Davis as a lottery pick. And here I was hoping we could get him in the teens.

5. Johnny Davis, SG, Wisconsin | Sophomore
Height: 6' 5" | Weight: 195 | Age: 19

Davis has arguably raised his profile more than any college prospect, going from NBA curiosity to likely lottery pick in short order. He’s a polished scorer, physical defender and quality run-jump athlete with an appealing competitive streak. It appears Davis’s confidence has grown in concert with his role, and he’s been remarkably consistent in putting up numbers game to game—though he does take a lot of tough shots, which has an impact on his individual efficiency.

Teams will want to see him sustain this level of play, but right now there’s not much reason to believe he won’t keep it up, as he’s always been reputed as a terrific shooter and added to his game skill-wise. Davis should be taken seriously as one of the draft’s top guard prospects and has earned himself quite a bit of credibility around the league.

Oh wow he looks really damn good. People were comparing Suggs to guys like Brandon Roy/Donovan Mitchell and when I would watch his games I never understood why, he never really flashed any self-creation skills or advanced handle. Davis actually looks like he can be the next in the mold of that kind of player stylistically. Has NBA pedigree too.

He is list in the late 10s on some of the board.
He can be a bit of combo guard, able to make some play. Indeed, he does take a lot of tough shots.

I think he is underrated, particularly, Duke is stacked with a few prospects.
His ability to dribble past his defender seems to be good, but would also like to see him make better passing and playmaking.
I wouldn't be surprised he will be drafted higher.

Yeah the playmaking is not great yet , but he's got some second side creation ability. If he can shoot it then it changes a lot for his draft position.

I think Suggs is more explosive and physical, but I like Davis' craftiness and floor game better. I hope his wingspan is long enough to allow him to guard the 2 because that's his best position.

It's a little concerning that he's broken out as a Junior and he already has NBA strength. That seems like a probable bench player level and not an NBA starter. On the other hand, Kryzewski has basically said he wasn't in shape and now he is, so maybe his numbers as a frosh and sophomore would look better if he had been. I don't think he'll end up going top 20. He's 6'5 and has 0 blocks and isn't a knockdown shooter. Definitely a solid all-around player and 7 foot wingspan screams NBA wing, but I think he goes end of the 1st or early 2nd.

I know he's out of our range, but I've really taken a liking to Ivey.

Ja Morant that shoots better from 3!

It could be:

1. Jabari Smith
2. Jaden Ivey
3. Chet Holmgren
4. Paolo Banchero

Jaden Ivey and Mathurin have similar stats. Ivey is definitely more fluid and quicker, where the Morant comparison is probably coming from. Mathurin is 3 inches taller and closer to the magical 6'9". But both will be out of our range.

Ivey is a better passer?
I think even we are not drafting them, there are still a few good 3&D prospect with good upside.

Do you think Patrick Baldwin can play SF or even SG? He's just so calm though, too calm. Like Tim Duncan calm.
