I still believe Kyrie is getting vaccinated and will be fully available.

Unless the rules have changed recently, you can't aggregate a player's salary and a TPE.

The above link suggests you can trade a lower paid player like Claxton for a higher salaried player. It’s like using the original trade salary discrepancy later as the filler.

Huge shot by Blake. So happy he made it.
Nic had very good game. Scary fall, dude shook it off and kept going. Stats and energy looked great. He's ready!!!
Gallow did ok. I'm taking him over Carter any day. He can score and make plays here and there.
Good win. With only 8 players dressed for two games in a row ... very happy here.
I read a stat somewhere before the start of the season that James Johnson and Millsap have been top 10 defenders against Giannis over their careers... I always felt that was the singular reason Millsap was signed, it was the only way I could explain it in my head at least as he always looked done when I saw him play the last few years and I felt at the time he would just duplicate Blake (at best)... I definitely wouldn't mind moving him it just seems unlikely he yields anything of value.
Carter didn't play well when he got minutes and showed me enough that I am not comfortable with him as a primary backup ball handler / PG but I think he could be useful in some matchups for a few minutes a game for his defense... I again wouldn't mind moving him, but can't imagine there's any value to be had there either...
JJ, SAPP and Blake on the same team right now is a over kill. One of them have to go. To me, Sapp is a weak link here. Constantly missing games and looking washed up. Imo he's redundant.
Carter is huge negative unless he's hidden and asked to do minimal. Can he provide anything positive? I haven't seen that yet. With these rookies showing up, can't have him on this roster.

It has to be two separate deals. For example, Claxton for a similar salaried throw in player, then the TPE for a higher salaried player.

So the team getting Claxton would give up picks to the team sending the TPE player to us?

Carter sucks. The rookies are good enough defensively and not black holes on offense like Carter is.
Stupid trade but whatever.

Why would we ever trade Claxton? Hes exactly what we need.
Honestly I don't really see the need to trade for anything. We have quality guys on the roster.
I would look to possibly add a backup PG off the buyout market to run the offense.
But all we really need right now is Kyrie. Counting the days till he comes bacl.

there is always the nash factor, but philly may not even show up to play beyond the first quarter.
this is a game we should win without KD going 40+

I feel like you're just setting this up so you can blame Nash if we lose.
We're still playing 4 rookies. We have zero bigs that can handle Embiid. We got lucky that 3 of our rookies balled out. If they come down to earth, we're in big trouble. And our guys might have tired legs from the heavy minutes Monday.
We have a chance but Nash deserves coach of the year if we blow Philly out.
We should win this game if KD plays.
Not having someone to guard embiid is irrelevant. his entire career he has gone off and his team isnt success despite that. because its hard to win with an offense having a high volume center. even if they are elite. on top of that, he gets gassed late. if you told me right now he gets 45/15 it would change my view that i think we would win.
We have KD, they dont. We are fresh, they are not. We are home, they just traveled from florida. This should be a win, and a win we have secured on the earlier side. This is not as tough a game as we just had with toronto, who had a cake walk game the night before us and has a bunch of super endurance ironmen and young guys.
We already know nash is going to be awful. he will do minimal coach. roll the ball to durant and hope for the best. not call timeouts when philly goes on a 10-0. misuse his challenge, and not make any obvious adjustments. Blaming Nash is moot. he is a handicap going into every game.
We almost had the game over by the 3rd but outside of that you were spot on

It can be the same team. Just have to be separate deals.
Basically you can’t combine TPE with another player to make it a higher salary in a SINGLE deal.

KD is the best player in the world. I love when he talked *** towards the end of the game. It's simply AMAZING. Dude is a leader. Kyrie, get your **** together and join the party...

HardenGoat wrote:So the team getting Claxton would give up picks to the team sending the TPE player to us?
It could be structured a few ways. But basically think of it as a series of trades instead of 1 trade.
One way the trade could work would be the Nets trade Claxton to a team with cap space (this team would need minimal cap space since Nic's contract is small) or that has a TPE of their own (again their TPE would only have to be small, around $2M) - in exchange the Nets would receive a heavily protected second round pick that likely wouldn't convey. The Nets would then make a second follow-up trade with that same acquiring a salary of up to the value of the TPE (approx. $11.5M).
In essence the Nets would have traded Claxton for the player acquired by the TPE but the structure by which it happened was a little more complicated than that and as others have noted the Nets couldn't have taken Claxton's $2M salary + $11.5M TPE to acquire a player with a salary of $13.5M.

Another gritty win, KD is the best player in the world and clearly the MVP. I don’t know if the young guys will remain in the rotation but they should stay they provide an energy this team has lacked this season. It’s good seeing Blake performing well.

Re: GT: 76ers @ Nets 12/16 7:30 EST
I'm still pumped up about last night.
This probably isn't sustainable, and KD needs to start getting some games off to rest and heal up, but it feels good to see the Nets play with pace and still play excellent defense with multiple bodies off the floor. This team is far deeper than any of us realized. Edwards, Duke, Cam, and Sharpe make up for the lack of picks we won't have control of. That wasn't a pack of scrubs we played against. We handled them the entire game and held firm when they came back to deliver a series of knock out blows.
I hope Harden is watching and noticing that getting the ball up the floor quicker on defensive stops results in easy offense. He's got to pick up the pace when he returns.

I think playing Harden with some of the younger guys who actually run might work wonders, it's pretty easy to see Harden hitting them in stride in transition or picking apart defenses as players cut back door... Here's.to hoping Nash doesn't do something boneheaded and entirely phase out the young guys when everyone returns.
Need to mix them in... (I sound like a broken record don't I?)

Kess needs to play, i would put Duke ahead of Carter on the depth chart. Sharpe should stay in stay ready mode since LMA and Blake should stay at C, Cam will still play as long as Harris is out.
