The team is playing badly enough that it is tanking without even trying to tank.

If we keep this pace up, we'll finish with 32 wins. Of course that's not taking into account remaining strength of schedule.

Looking at the guards - since we need them and might not have Beal - the one that really sticks out to me is Jaden Ivey ;t=54s . He's not real big at 6'4, but I don't see his size being a problem, and he could get bigger - as a 19 year old soph. He's got a strong build with long arms, and he's a helluva defender. Hopefully, he can play some point in the NBA or at least be a combo guard. Great scorer but still developing his jump shot. He's got some qualities that Dwyane Wade had.

The other hyped Jaden - Jaden Hardy - of Ignite - pass. He's gifted and has great range on his jumper, but he's absurdly undisciplined. The best player on his Ignite team is PG Scoot Henderson, but he's not going to be eligible for the 2022 draft.

Tbh, I haven't seen much college ball, but the hyped players don't seem to have the stats or characteristics that wow me - so far.

2022 Draft Thread. Jabari Smith come on down!

Post#10 » by doclinkin » Fri Dec 17, 2021 12:59 pm

Might as well corner the market on 6'10" outside shooters.

I didn't see another Draft thread so here we go. Merge if one exists.

Oh man, this is great -- we'll probably reel off 5 wins in a row because of this! :)
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

We are going to lose at least 6 of the next 7 games.

If I had to guess now, I think he'll go #1. Great skills for a player his size but not an explosive athlete, imo. As with Banchero, I have no doubt about his offense, but I question his defense at PF. He looks like a better version of a young Rashard Lewis.

A lot of us have been here a long time. We haven't had a 50 win season since the 70s. We have good reason to be frustrated.

Man the Wizard's season turned fast, and it turned hard. Just 5-6 weeks ago I was posting about how impressive the teamwork, effort, and overall vibe of the team was.

What the heck soured them so much, so quickly?

Drafting has not been Tommy's strength, so if you're going to tank, you'd better go all the way. Don't put yourself in position to get the #10 pick.
