KD and Harden immune to criticism from media since the moment Kyrie went mia once again. Any Nets failure going to be pointed at him and Marks to some degree.

If this antivax crew think they won, they better think again. There's a lot of things going against Kyrie and them right now. I bet after this season they'll be crying after consequences kick in. We live in bureaucratic country, it take time for things to kick in.

So the next road game is next thursday. Is that when he'll play?

honestly it didnt make sense not to let him play road games from the start... and really if they didnt think strong arming him might get him to take the vaccine, they probably would have let him play the whole time.

".. but, chemistry"

People use that for reasoning but honestly, that was always the facade. We played last year with like 100 different lineups, Harden/KD where constantly in and out of the lineup with hamstrings. Kyrie missed 15 games sprinkeld throughout the year, Blake came late, LMA came and went in a week, claxton came back from injury late....

And chemistry was outstanding. whoever was in, we still wrecked teams. Playoffs we were a well oiled machine before injuries hit. Kyrie is also one of the most portable guys he can play on or off ball. creates space or takes advantafe of space.

I have 0 concerns kyrie playing only road games will hurt chemistry. it will help us lower minutes/rest guys and it will drastically improve our offense back to god mode. It also will take us back to fun basketball not just 18 seconds and give it to KD for a baseline jumper.

probably needs to go through COVID protocol. then needs to practice ramp up. id assume all of that is like 10-14 days. which is fine because @clippers and @lakers he couldnt play anyone because of the cali mandate. so he would only miss portland as an eligible game.

@ pacers january 5th seems like the most likely return. which is kind of nice too because Eric Adams will have been in office a week and we can see if he adds daily testing as an option to the mandate. not holding my breath on that but its certainly a possibility.

Kyrie would get 6 days off before @bulls and then a 4 game road trip 1/19 to 1/23. 7 road games total in january and 9 more road games in february.

it allows him to slowly play himself intp game shapre, rest, and rest others when he plays.

hopefully get gets the current or plant based vaccine on or in march. thats a nice ramp up to the playoffs

With travel and the way this thing is spreading, it's almost a definite

It'd probably be a good idea to prepare for this eventuality by adding Joe Rogan to the team's medical staff.

Can you imagine the reaction if Kyrie takes a personal day as a part-time player?

Not true.

Kyrie can play in LA because the mandate only applies to players living in those cities. The only road games he can't play are vs the Knicks and Raptors.

Depends on what type of shape hes in but I think Christmas is possible.

The NBA requires that all players follow local laws, whether they are home or visiting. Whether unvaccinated visiting players can play depends on how the local laws are written.

Not only can I imagine it. I Guarantee it.

Honestly, I'd rather lose road games without him than win road games with a part-time player.

I agree with Mgrand that it was important to build the team up without the distraction of media and having Kyrie in and out of rotations through the first 3rd of this season. The season now has changed and every team is dealing with disruption and needing players coming in for relief measures. Bringing Kyrie in on road games at this point is only going to help us. Plus he’s going to be rested and less likely to get injured. There’s no doubt in my mind he will get vaccinated eventually. Probably with the plant based vaccine made by Medicago which is awaiting approval. This could be a blessing in disguise having a fully healthy Kyrie playing full time going into the playoffs while allowing KD to log back minutes as well.

I didnt realize that. thats awesome. if thats the case i think Christmas day seems like a good bet, if no the clipper game (which is 10 days from now).

I doubt he isnt in close to game ready shape. certainly enough to play 10-15 ramp up minutes.

Wow. Now THAT is surprising. Didn’t think Nets would allow it to happen.

But on 2nd thought, not really that surprising. With the way Covid has hammered the roster, we need any help we can get. KD can’t keep playing 38+ min a game. Or it’ll be a disaster waiting to happen.

Kyrie, even if road games only, is still 10x better than the likes of the Galloways of the world. So welcome back Kyrie.

I’m cautiously optimistic.

I dont think it has anything to do with the COVD outbreak. Shams story on "optimism" came before those players tested positive,

Maybe it had to do with KD's minutes... he was still up there before these last 2 games. But i think it just came down to the coaches/players telling marks they want him back. that and there being a potential plan...

-come back for road games
-maybe adams help you
-if adams doesnt help you the plant based vaccine is a month or 2 away.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
