Fix rebounding and get Fox. T'Wolves have Towns and crew locked in for at least the next 3 years. Kings reset with Haliburton, add another youngish shooter, and cap relief. Could start to become a contender when the T'Wolves begin to fall apart.

No chance in hell Kings do this lol, come on.

If a swap happens I think it will be very close to straight up

Where did you hear that? Can you post a link, please?

Just google it and read between the lines. For instance.

Then there are questions about the chemistry between Doncic and Porzingis. The Mavs' franchise cornerstones admittedly aren't friends, a distant dynamic that team owner Mark Cuban has compared to the early stages of the partnership between Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry, which ultimately produced two NBA Finals appearances and a championship.

But Porzingis has been frustrated, often feeling more like an afterthought than a co-star as Doncic dominates the ball and the spotlight, sources told ESPN. Porzingis frequently made thinly veiled references during his postgame media availabilities, such as saying the "ball actually moved tonight" after high-scoring performances or stating that the offense didn't involve him on low-scoring nights

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/mavericks-kristaps-porzingis-frustrated-next-to-luka-doncic-but-trade-interest-is-minimal-per-reports/amp/

Mchmahon (very reliable person) also reported Porz wanted a trade during the offseason.

I dont think Porz want to play this style with Doncic and Doncic’s absence could allow Mavs to showcase Porz.

They’re not gonna broadcast to everyone they hate Porz to hurt his value. But you can just follow the breadcrumbs.

Porz doesnt want to play Doncic’s heavy PnR style (“ball actually moved tonight”) thus he wanted Carlisle gone. Porz is getting it this season while I think it lead to some decline to Doncic’s game compared to last season.

Porz may want to play on our dribble drive system where the ball can keep moving and then we can take advantage of mismatches on either Biid or Porz as “go to guys” when our dribble drive gets stalled.

If you can get Dame for Ben or Tobi, do it over Porz. But I wouldnt mind trading Tobi or Ben for Porz if Porz is the best offer out there

So what you extracted from that was Mavs and Doncic don't like Porzingis? Wow!

It would be ideal to bring in a defensive 4 (i.e. Crowder, Covington) and an offensive 3 (i.e. Bogdanovic, Barnes) in a Simmons/Fox swap with or without Tobias OR in a separate Tobias trade.

Fox/Maxey/Springer
Green/Curry/Joe
Offense/Thybulle/Korkmaz
Defense/Niang/Reed
Embiid/Drummond/Bassey

I think that's what turns this season and team around.

I know Morey wants to play a high variance game with a bad hand.

And for me, that means trading for a package of picks and pick swaps or try to be patient and be lucky to end up for a guy like dame or a top tier star.

No in betweens.

I don't agree with trading him for a package of picks and swaps unless it's part of a 3 team trade. At that point you are still better off holding onto ben rather than playing the stock market game with picks.

Holding unto ben and waiting to be lucky is the same as trading ben for picks and picks swap, in regards with those two package are high variance play that gets you a chance for a top tier player.

What does not get you that chance is trading ben for a sideways move like Dejounte Murray.

Package of picks or young players along with Tobi’s contract next season could also get you a top tier player.

Thats just how i look at it. And this is kind of also explains why Ben hasnt been traded yet for a Brogdon type package.

Sixers fan just want to trade Ben and end the pain. Morey has a longer view, he wants the Sixers to have a chance to be the top team in the league. And the only way to play that game with Ben as your main trade chip is taking high risks move like picks or holding and waiting to be lucky.

Sideways move!?! You are replacing a player who hasn't improved since his rookie year and is not playing for a player who has improved every year and IS playing. That's not a sideways move to me. I said at the time that I would have taken that Brogdon deal but at that time everyone was wanting these insane hauls for Simmons.

Skates wrote:If someone like the Pellies really made a knockout offer of draft picks (and at least enough role players to match salary), you could fill some minor holes this year and have a currency in draft picks that could be very rich depending on the number of picks, swaps and protection, if any. Just to match salary without including Ingram they would have to send us Devonte Graham (4 years at 411 mil), Josh Hart (3 years at 412 mil) and Satoransky with $10 mil expiring. If Morey can get an overpay in picks, he might well take it as a very fungible set of assets for future deals, grabbing guys in drafts and lots of smaller, more movable salaries for deal flexibility. It is in some ways a better package of assets to have then Simmons just sitting there getting older and possibly losing value to a small market team as his time under contract diminishes.

Hart is like an expiring deal as well. He has a low buyout for the last 2 years of his deal. They signed him specifically to include him in trade packages.

I honestly think the Kings are the winner in this trade.

I would only trade for fox if the trade also included Harris.

Sixers get - Fox, Barnes and filler

Kings get - Simmons and Harris

From seeing recaps of his podcast.

-Wolves are still big time pursuing Simmons, but who they will make available very much hurting chances.
-Kings have made nearly everyone (according to him) available. Kings not happy with Fox as he came into the season 15 lbs heavier than last year. Some internally want to move on from him.
-Blazers have everyone on the block except Dame.
-Predicts if Simmons is trades at least one or more of these will be involved and it most likely a multi-team trade (Timberwolves, Kings, Rockets)
-Cleveland may not be a Simmons final destination, but might be part of a multi-team trade as internally talks are about strengthening roster for a possible playoff push.

I am kind of surprised the Wokves haven’t caved yet. Especially after KAT threw a ****fit. Makes me wonder if the speculation they want to trade KAT and DLo to build around Edwards might be true.

The Ayton-KAT trade should have happened already. Makes too much sense for both sides.

The thing that would make that trade more perfect is shipping Doc to SAC along with Ben and Tobi.

Agreed. I think if they fall short again this year they can do a S&T this summer, sending Ayton + pick(s) + swap(s) for KAT.

If you were Phoenix, how much would you add?

Does it? Phoenix doesn't want to pay Ayton because they have a cheap owner and are already paying Booker, Paul and Bridges.

Simmons for Fox needs to happen so we have time to evaluate what else we could need. Maxey, Thybulle, Harris, 3 firsts and 3 swaps is still a star package now that Maxey has broke out. Maybe not super star but star. Like if Beal wanted out that would be competitive.

I don't see how Maxey and Fox can co-exist as a backcourt right now.

They are essentially the same type of player and both are too small to play SG. Furthermore if you moved one to the bench you'd essentially have to start Curry for floor spacing which would still be terrible defensively.

I think we can get Jaylen Brown for Ben. A straight up deal, benefits both teams.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
