Too bad he just started his contract. $43 mil by 2024, ouch.

After this injury, no one will want him any way

He is done for a few weeks IMO

I can totally picture you saying that as he and Lebron hoisted #17

Lebron and Westbrook come off the books after next season. THT (assuming he picks up his option) and AD will be the only two left on the roster. We'll just have to take it from there.

The "experiment" was a bust. Anyone who's watched Westbrook's career coulda told you as much. In fact, just about everyone did. Except a few die-hard Laker fans who lied to themselves that old dogs, do in fact, learn new tricks (these were the same guys who were stoked about C-Anthony), and the Laker front office, and John Ireland....I think just about every basketball mind out there said this would be a disaster. AD was like one of 3 or 4 guys not about to celebrate his 40th....and he's prob the most injury prone of them all. And Carmelo and Russ play "Me Ball" and won't expend a lick of effort on the defensive side.....and people thought that wouldn't hurt the defensive culture?

And I see a ton of y'all blaming the coach....sheesh. Sadly he will be the fall guy first. And I look forward to seeing the coach that gets Carmelo and Russ to buy in on defense. Or richer still.....allows them to NOT play defense, and get good minutes, but somehow have the REST of the team play really good D. When this mythical coach arrives, maybe we'll have something. I hear Luke is available.

For what it's worth....we got #17. More than we woulda got with the grand collection of mediocrity we shipped outa here. And at this point, there's not much to do, but wait for Father Time to shovel this team into the heap, and we start all over again.

Truer words haven't been spoken.

Just watching Russell again last night made me laugh.... 38% from the field and less effort on defense that we saw here. Max money for that. Somewhere Steve Francis is smiling.

Of the "last place" crew I miss watching Nance's effort, Zu's enthusiasm and growth and Clarkson for some reason. Clarkson is the only one playing a crucial role on a team that needs him to. Ingram can't change the course of a game and is still losing no matter who they put around him. Randle is good... then not and Ball is growing a little but still a laughably far away from the Magic replacement we all heard he was.

He played great in the bubble. I give him that. Besides that he was and still is underachieving. All the injuries don't help his case. He should be in the prime of his career right now.

Played great in the bubble, wins a ring at peak age of 27 while playing with a 36 year old superstar and he signs a max year contract, why?
Wouldn’t you want to just sign 1 plus one deal to see if Lebron’s body holds up, if not, just bolt and team up with another young superstar?
Unless , you’re not feeling right, constantly feeling pain on your knees, ankles, shoulders etc etc, then you decide to secure the maximum money possible.
In fairness for the Lakers though, they don’t have a choice but roll the dice, hire centers to bang bodies, sit him for 30 games then hope for the best.

pfft I don't think it should have counted, but it did so what ever.

I'm one of few on here, who didn't and still don't want Lebron on this team.

Maybe AD should only be allowed to play 50-60 games, It's a sure thing his body can't handle that many games, despite being in his prime OR should be in his prime
