This half measure **** is just leading to a worthless product being put out there where half the roster for each team isn’t playing on any given night.

Ha I can relate to your comment because I was thinking things were manageable and fine enough... until my C's players started going down yesterday, and then I'm like Yo this is stupid as hell they need to do something!!

Last year Dallas got off to a terrible start because they were hit harder than anyone but Washington but not hard enough to have games cancelled. 5 of the top 7 were out for weeks. I just figured bad luck for Dallas but hoped the league could press on.

This right now though hits different. It's everywhere and its accelerating. I think we are likely looking a post-Christmas shut down of some sort. This feels not sustainable.

Yeah, it sucks. Assuming KD has the Omicron variant, it's a different beast. Here's some added context:

On the bright side, passing a variant with immune-escaping properties while vaxxed bolsters your immune response that much more.

This Omnicron is outragous.

I was at a Holiday Christmas party on Saturday. There were ~40 people there, all vaxxed. Most boosted.

As of Friday 23 people have COVID this week. I had COVID 3 weeks ago and have it again despite being vaxxed. Most mild symptoms, some kinda rough.

Stay safe. Do you know if it was Omicron though?

I assume the sports leagues adopt a similar policy to this.
The problem is unlike kids in school, NBA players have a job that requires them to play maskless for extended periods so how does that work?

Not the worst situation.

Knicks should just tank and go for a top pick.

It is by far better than getting bounced in the first round and pinning your hopes on Julius Randle.

No just an assumption based on what I've learned and how it cut through a group of careful, healthy, vaccinated people like a hot knife through butter .

The NFL is doing exactly what should be done...The NBA went the exact opposite direction and are now testing even more.

Players want to play and players don't want to be tested...So guess what the NBAPA decided to do?

Players who aren't sick good get sick playing and compromise themselves playing a strenuous sport. They can also pass it on to a lot of other players and teams if they aren't sick, making those players sick.

So regular working people don't have the same problems? Should everybody working be tested daily?

That’s why letting asymptomatic positive players wait 48 hrs and then play if still asymptomatic may be the best compromise at this point.

I'm seeing bubble comments but I don't think it's realistically possible at this point. I can't think of anywhere to do it that's big enough, has all the necessary accommodations, hotel rooms and basketball courts, and is empty and ready for the NBA to take over. Places like Disneyworld and Vegas are full of tourists and going about their normal business I believe. And the Disneyworld bubble wasn't big enough in the first place, which is why the bottom 8 teams were excluded.

I have had 17 modernas, 14 pfizers and a j&j with a side of glenlivet as a goof, and somehow I caught covid after going to 27 parties last week. I don't understand!

Let's behave like adults please. There is no place in this thread for trolling and saying stuff you know is silly just to get a reaction. -b

Wow how frustrating, it's like everytime I log in someone else is under protocol, Christmas games are going to suck at this rate. Hope all who are under protocol end up being okay.

One of my concerns in all of this is if the players who get omicron get delta and vice versa...If these same protocols are in place, you might see what happened to Al Horford and this season will be completely derailed.

If you're going to ok idiotic tweets like this, you're directly asking for the idiotic statement to be responded to accordingly. I mean what you allow or don't is not my business just keep the standards consistent.

OK well here's the strike and suspension you're apparently clamoring for. -b

WTF I just saw all these big names like Kevin Durant pop up on the wiretap for testing positive.

Postponement seems like the best option right now.
