Can you imagine the reaction if Kyrie takes a personal day as a part-time player?

Dude is only going to play 18 regular season games at most too.

I think he's a moron for not getting vaccinated. Why would you want to play part time?

I'm glad we'll at least have him, but really it's stupid. He has nothing to be afraid of.

He wants to play full time. the state currently doesnt allow it

Pfizer/Moderna have no animal products in them so what's the diff between them and the plant based? the other vaccines were available for him to get before the season started but all of a sudden he's going the get the plant based one.. yup makes a ton of sense.

Cyanide doesnt have animal product in it.
Mustard Gas doesnt have any animal products in it
Bleach doesnt have any animal products in it

Those things are sitll harmful. alot of veagans and people contious of that stuff arent just about not eating meat/animals but having it be as close to 100% organic and plant based as possible.

Like when you go to the store you can get like "kraft organic" mayo. which is still loaded with preseravites and made in some factory. or you can buy a vegan, non gmo, organic plant based mayo that is made on a farm and distributed with no preservatives.

just because something is organic or no meat products used doesnt mean they are all equally healthy

You're comparing a vaccine to mustard gas? No one is asking Kyrie to huff mustard gas or drink bleach

Expecting Kyrie to take the plant based vaccine is just straight up silly. That's not happening. Its not how anti-vaxxers operate at all. And it goes against his 'anti-mandate' stance by complying with it.

Seems like KD forced Marks to do this. It doesn't really have to do with the COVID stuff.

i get it from KD's perspective. He needs help. But if Kyrie wants to play just get the **** shot.

Kyrie is probably out another 2 weeks. That means he can't even practice. Will need a ramping up period. Can't play vs the Knicks and Raptors.

Seems almost pointless. How many games of Kyrie will we realistically get?

20 at most? And then he can't play at home in the playoffs?

You can't admit that his vaccine stance is dumb eh? He'll take a vegan vaccine yet the other vaccines don't contain any animal products and are vegan friendly  Kyrie knows he's being a hypocrite and is looking to save face. No difference between the current ones and the vegan one yet he was willing to sit out a majority of the season for no reason.

Just a thought. Once Kyrie is over his bout with COVID, he should be able to apply & be granted a short term medical exemption from the vaccine mandate because he cannot get vaccinated for 60 days post COVID. That could be an exploitable loop hole to get him to play some home games as well.

If they do pursue a medical exemption, it would make me wonder of Kyrie & the Nets knew he was positive before starting his "return process."

Only in the most specious sense.

The team isn't bringing him back because they realised they're wrong. They're bringing him back in the same way a country fighting a losing war of attrition has to enlist the least-fit civilians as soldiers.

That doesn't speak to Kyrie's talent obviously, but it speaks to his ability to be a team player and make rational, informed decisions. Because it's also true that when dealing with a person acting like a child, you generally have to treat them like a child.

Actually that kinda stops working the more power they accrue, then more and more they get to dictate their own terms. Fortunately, at this point Kyrie's not even worth a smidgeon of KD's value, but at least he may give Durant some much-needed rest here and there, and that's increasingly critical at this point.

Yep. Even if it gets cleared by the FDA, he won't take it.

The goal posts always shift for antivaxxers.

The crazy thing about this is that if we are able to somehow hold onto the 1 seed we'll be at a slight disadvantage in we'll only be at full strength for 3 games of a 7 game series. I really do hope he changes his mind, but at this I'm just in acceptance that this will be our reality.

You missed the entire point.

He said that the moderna/pfizer vaccines have no meat products. I pointed out how that is irrelevant. not having meat products doesnt mean something is 100% organic, doesnt contain things someone who is a health nut would object to etc. Just because something contains no meat, doesnt mean that its automatically made of all good stuff. the point about cyanide was to highlight that....

if im a vegan, id think id choose something that is plant based and made from someone who values organic, vegan, plant based products. not some big pharma company who doesnt really have that in mind with a not so great track record of being 100% honest with the publci.

There are enormous differences between the vaccines. there is a reason the plant based vaccine exsists... because there is a huge demand and people holding out to take it for one.
