And to put things into perspective, NY Giants QB Daniel Jones brother Bates Jones got 15 minutes for Duke and looked productive in the game. Jaylen Blakes who I almost forgot was on the team got 18 minutes.

We've seen this from Griffin before.

21 minutes, 18 points on 7-10 shooting and 2 steals against Lafayette. Then followed up with

11 minutes against The Citadel
6 minutes against Gonzaga
2 minutes against Ohio State

(to be clear, this isnt me saying you TraBuch is getting overly excited from this game. Just putting the context out there for anyone who didnt watch the game and just watch these highlights and might start getting pumped to see AJ turning it around.)

We have some posters on the Raps board that are already sold on his potential. Not me though, I'm like.. Uhh.. he's had two good games so far this season.

Every time I watch AJ I find he's mostly invisible out there. His handle isn't where it needs to be and he's not as athletic as he should/looks. I'd rather look or take a chance on Kendall/Benedict personally, unless AJ picks it up.

Feel pretty confident that these two will translate fairly easily and have solid ceiling.

1. Jabari Smith
2. Jaden Ivey

I'm with you - those are my top 2. Is there another guard that's even close to Ivey? The other Jaden - Hardy - sure isn't. Ivey's gonna be a star.

Ya and to be clear, I am a big AJ fan so I would love to see him get going. It would be great as a Duke fan to see and so I can say how right I was the previous 2 years about him haha.

I will say this as a follow up to my previous post. Both games Griffin did well in, yes they were against horrible competition but those were the only games he was allowed to get into a rhythm. The Lafayette game, Griffin didnt score until about 6 minutes of game time. Same thing from the previous game. Both times he comes in very tentative, but once he gets going, he starts putting the ball the ball down and attacking.

Ive been pretty positive with my views on K so far this year, but this is my biggest negative with him. I think the very short leash has killed AJ's confidence. If its against a legit opponent, all AJ has to do is miss a shot and he is pulled for the rest of the game. You can see that tentative play style in these games against these horrible opponents. The first few minutes in he seems very hesitant to do anything. But once it becomes obvious he's going to be out there for awhile, you see his game open up. What has Keels done to give him an unlimited leash, while AJ is still on the shortest leash possible (talking going against legit competition).

Again not getting too hyped about this game because of how bad the opposition is and we've seen this before and once a real game comes along, AJ goes back to being the last man in the rotation. Just saying I still think AJ is a talented kid and when he gets to play relaxed I think he can be a good player. Just doubt we will see that against legit competition this year.

Yup. These are the two I feel confident in their floor/ceiling and them being able to translate their skills. Both also appear to be two-way types (who I love). From the very little I've seen from Hardy, I'm not feeling the decision making or shot consistency. IMO Paolo looks like ground-bound Blake griffin or a Jabari Parker esque (but not as advanced offensively).

Chet I have plenty of concerns that others also share. I'm also not sure why people love Duren in the top 8. Maybe at 10-14.

AJ or PBJ? (Baldwin Jr). I've never watched him play, but the game log stats for him aren't pretty and he plays for Milwaukee. Is he riding nothing but hype at this point? Both players seem to have a very jumper heavy oriented game.

AJ Griffin is the best pro prospect on Duke for me.

https://www.si.com/nba/2021/12/16/nba-draft-big-board-jabari-smith-paolo-banchero-chet-holmgren

he has

1.Jabari
2. Banchero
3. Chet
4. Ivey
5. Johnny Davis
6. Brown
7. Murray
8. Daniels
9. PBJ
10. Keels
11. Mathurin
12. Hardy
13. Davison
14. Duren

Looks like mainstream media might finally be catching on to Duren being nowhere near a top 5 pick, Hardy as well

I don't really get the Banchero hype. He looks like a less skilled version of Jabari Parker to me.

What is his role going to be in the league? He reminds me of a quicker Derrick Williams (Arizona) His body is already physically developed.

I read the link above, the first 30 picks.

The guy who wrote this definitely reads this board. Some of his takes are like a complete transcription of what some people say here.

Duke top 2 guys will split from where you have them and head in opposite directions.

;t=21s

He's a big thick kid for someone who can handle and pass like he can. I'd like to see him lose some weight to see if that'll make him quicker. I've seen him listed at various sizes - looks to me like he's 6'7 235ish. If he can gradually improve his 3 point shot and overall pg type skills, he could be a helluva player. Just turned 19. His parents own 17 McDonalds', so he's gotta avoid the family business. :burger:

Still have a hard time putting AJ in the lotto. Again after his big game against SC State

11/2/1 against App State
5/5/2 against Elon

He's showing he can hit open catch and shoot 3s, but either than that he still isnt showing much. 39 minutes the last two games combined and only 4 attempts inside the arc. This is against horrible competition as well. You would think he would be able to do something a little more against this caliber of competition.

2021 is clearly better. These are my realistic projections [90% outcome]

All-time great big man in Mobley.

Cade looks like what most thought, all-star level player in his prime.

Not high on Jalen Green but Sengun looks like a centerpiece Center which some thought.

Suggs worse than what I envisioned.

Barnes looks terrific.

Wagner has star potential [Think Gordon Hayward].

Giddey and Duarte look like long-time NBA Starters.

2021 was a great draft.
