Glad Bazley is on the bench. Very small line up though.

Badly want to win this game but it's pretty unlikely...

Dort is so good. I thought he was overrated after the bubble but I was wrong.

Have missed the last few games, but glad to see them get this one and from reddit at least they're getting some credit for playing well, hope they build a bit and play well, that's what I hope for. Shai's dance had me laughing, won't lie.

Edited and note: And yeah, Dort is really improved (again box score judging here but overall). I've been lower on him in the past, but really like what I've seen this year and tend to hope they keep him around long term now.

Pretty exciting game overall even if we are far from having a good squad. I would say that it's the first win of the season that was 100% on our young players (Kenrich, Muscala and Favors were bad).

Mann is really skilled (his defense is terrible obviously but he improved a lot). Poku had a good game. A bit worried about Giddey's ability to score but he's still very young. Dort was incredible and SGA was clutch.

Oh and obviously, Bazley is a very good cheerleader on the bench :)

He’s tracking very similar to his NBL season. He only got better the season went on. In the future, I see him only averaging 13-18pts per game.

Good to see, and-1'd but not as concerned w/ rookies with really much just yet. Poku having a good game seems a bit surprising but hey take em when you get em lol. I'm not sure Giddey will ever be a fantastic scorer, but remember Vecenie thinking his shot could improve, and I'm still hopeful there, at minimum he seems to have a strong floor as a guy who makes sense w/ SGA.

Mann seems like more a bench gunner/scorer type, which is useful too even if not a super high end guy, but something this team lacks otherwise.

And aside, but its a little bit of a thing I've thought about that Williams is part of the "vet/older" group on this team, but is only 27 really. Hes still pretty young, even looking at Houston who's early in their rebuild, Tate is 26 (and good too) and part of their group considered young I think by most. Sorta something I've thought about that makes me want him to stick around longer term too I think, along with the fact that hes just solid.

Something that I tend to agree . Unless it’s a clear value win ( 2 high first or 1 first rounder) we are better off keeping him and paying his next contract .

With the way dort is trending we should be able to be set at PG/SG/SF with SGA/Dort/Giddey with giddey taking the bigger SF as he get stronger.

Giddey is a bit of a unicorn playmaker though - he is almost ambidextrous with his passing, which combined with his height means he can basically make any pass he wants.

He only needs to be a 15 point scorer and he's a perennial all star. Very special talent given he is only just 19.

josh giddey getting a rebounds / assists double-double before recording a triple double is hilarious.

He only has one consistent option to create his own offense, and it's a floater. Not great, Bob.

it's rare. only 75 players have achieved a rebound / assist double-double since the 50's. it's even rarer to get one before recording a triple double. only 15 players have done that. lots of no-scoring / high-assist guards in that group. eric snow, brian shaw.

12 players have achieved a rebound / assist double-double without ever recording a triple double. giddey is in that group, for now. but unless something goes horribly wrong i don't expect him to remain there. the only other active player with him is thaddeus young.

i find this far more interesting than becoming the youngest to get a triple double. neither one means anything, it's just round numbers that look pretty.

The fact he had the double double and 8 points with an entire quarter to play and finished the game one bucket short of the triple says a lot about his offensive ineptitude.
