Could a 3 way deal work with some of our stuff going to Sacramento for Davion Mitchell
Mitchell to Houston with some of our stuff for Wood
Wood here?

Hoopshype proposed trade:
The Celtics can offer Indiana Josh Richardson, Aaron Nesmith, Payton Pritchard and a protected first-round pick to make things work financially, if they really want to land Sabonis.

I am guessing that Indiana would get better offers for Sabonis. Would do that trade easy though for us.

They might want hometown hero Langford over Nesmith.
Can i interest them with a pupu platter of Schroder, Juancho, Langford, a 1st, a swap, and a 2nd?

Would still rather pursue Turner.
IMO better fit.
Can have all NBA defense the PG spot and at the Center spot. Cannot sell that short. And if you can keep Richardson and still get a deal to happen then we have the best defense in the league.
Willaims, Schroder, Jauncho and a 1st satisfies cba rules on the trade financially. Does that get Indiana to bite?
Smart/Pritchard
Richardson/Romeo/Thomas
Brown/Nesmith/Hauser
Tatum/GrantW/Parker
Turner/Horford/Kanter/Bruno
Lethal, imo

Agree that Turner's the better fit, if they're keeping Smart.

I like Turner's length, skillset, and fit in theory. I've just been underwhelmed by his career so far. He doesn't seem to have the drive to be better than he's shown.
Sabonis will help our offense if used right, but huge question mark defensively.

Fair enough, The fact that he can score and pass the ball so well. Too lazy to look but I think he averages more asts per than anyone on our team.. Or in another way of thinking, maybe he can stimulate our sometimes poor ball movement.

In today's ERA I rather have more offense than defense TBH.. and it's our offense that fails more than our defense.

I feel Sabonis' skills esp as a passer and facilitator will go to waste in Boston. He'd fit with teams who love to move in the half court like the Suns, Heat, and Warriors.

That's so depressing. (Since I'd hope we'd be a team like that)

the glass half empty = his passing goes to waste.. the glass half full = stimulates real basketball.

Don't you feel Timelord's passing is being underused? Unless it's him catching an awful lob or saving the ball from going out of bounds and somehow magically passing it to a corner shooter, I've yet to see them use him as a facilitator/connector consistently.
Same with Horford, who theoretically would work well as a pick-and-pop or short roll big.

If you believe Turner it is because of the system and his apparent fit with Sabonis.
As a 3rd player his role would be make his shots, post up and defend at an all nba level.

Sabonis might cost Rob Williams, Nesmith, PP, a FRP and salary filler, which is a pretty steep price.

For Timelord, he is a great passer, but since he really isn't much more than a Lob threat on offense, he doesn't get many touches..Sabonis can and does get doubled often and definitely would garner More touches than Timelord. Agree that Horford should be more involved.. Would be funny if all 3 Bigs are better passers than our "stars" or maybe it wouldn't

That's a fair point. Timelord might take the occasional midrange set shot that would put Amir Johnson's slow release to shame, but he isn't a threat to put the ball on the floor.

Ours offense isn't predicated on ball movement other than the drive and kick. Which if you have sound shooters on your team, works just fine.
Brown and Tatum are both very good at getting into the middle of the court. If we can draw that extra defender out of there with our center (IE: Turner) then that gives them even more room to operate.
Smart ends up on the baseline 3pt where he shoot very respectable 36%
Turner is open most likely at the top of the key off the pick and pops where he is 43% (32 attempts - comparison Horford is 1 for 12)
And the 4th player spreading the floor in the opposite corner (Richardson-GrantW-Nesmith-Romeo...all very capable 3pt shooters (richardson the worst but at least average)
