NBA needs to do the same. I don’t see any logical reason for this to continue. It’s just going to get worse unless they step in and stop it now in its tracks.

This tweet was before the season even started last year. Things are better this year.

Those 48 cases were before the season even started last year, without fans etc. These cases are 1/3 into the season. So yes its better compared to last year.

Don't think how that works. Not like fans are shaking players hands at the games

I think the absence of rim protection after Bogut's injury was the bigger deal breaker than Curry's ankle.
So the unanimous mvp being impaired for the whole playoffs by a legit knee injury sustained in the 1st round doesn't matter? Lebron fans should worship at the alter of monteijunas, and drink his back sweat (that made curry slip and injure himself ) as holy water.

Golden St was up 3-1. They lost every game from then on after they lost their best perimiter option for keeping Lebron out of the paint, and their best option IN the paint for stopping him at the rim. It was a layup line for the rest of the series.

Take a look at Lebron's (And Kyrie's) Shot charts, pre and post Bogut and Iggy injury.

6th season in a row if you asterisk the two titles won by KD being a cupcake snake. 2019 would have gotten an asterisk anyway even if KD didn't get hurt.

2016 was legit (unless you believe in the Curry was injured excuse), but 2015 also has an asterisk because of all the injuries the Warriors benefited from. 2014 was definitely legit.

Wait, what? So we are just going to overlook the Bogut and Iggy injuries too?
1. Steph injury
2. Draymond suspension
3.bogut injury (more ezeli in game 7 killed them)
4. Iggy injury.

But ok. Lets just overlook that lol

I'm not saying Curry's injury wasn't a MAJOR reason. I'm saying it was FAR FAR from the ONLY reason.

The point is the league is in a better spot. Again those 48 cases were before the season even started.

The NBA is a microcosm of what's happening to society at large. If we keep obsessing over positive tests, we'll never get out of this. With positive tests and real illness trends now completely detached, it's time to start focusing on metrics that actually measure illness - like symptomatic cases and hospitalizations.

What a great opportunity for G league players. Most of them just want a chance to show their talent and now they've got it. Seize the day.

The NBA is going to try as hard as possible to get through Christmas Day, and then reassess from there. It comes down to money. If the league does pause the season at any point, it will be some time after December 25.

As far as playing through a rash of positive tests, I think the worst part is it's a bit of a bad faith move by the NBA since fans have spent their hard earned money on these games and going to an arena during a pandemic only to see a 2nd rate product won't exactly endear themselves to their own fanbase. On top of that, Christmas Day with G Leaguers across every lineup probably won't go over well with TV audiences either, especially since the NFL has games on Christmas now too.

Ultimately I can understand why they are pushing through. If 2020 never happened, they may have acted differently, but this is going on year 3 of the pandemic, and 2 years have already seen decreased revenue because of it. They still have to act in the best interest of their business at the end of the day until it gets to a point where they absolutely have no choice.

Christmas day basketball is too big a cash cow I imagine to shut it down now. Perhaps 26th-EOY if they must.

I've been looking forward to the Wayne Ellington vs Bembry Xmas showdown anyways. Throw in Gorgui Dieng vs Taj Gibson and ratings will be well worth the 24 billion that tv networks paid for maruqee days like Christmas.

Adam Silver letting the Raptors play that game against the Nets was full blown stupidity

Any link to a list of teams and cases since the beginning of the season? That would be interesting to see.
