I'm surprised to see Seth Curry drop this far. I know you really like him, Doc, and I think it's amazing value this late!

Same here! I valued Payton II as a 4 who plays the roll man on the pick and roll a little more than Curry but forgot he wasn't picked [Thanks holidays!]...

I'm glad I remembered Gordon.

With this format we're not having very top heavy teams, but they seem all extremely deep.
Getting a subpar defender that is not a dominant offensive player can be a bit of a luxury, more than IRL.
As we finish I will try to see what are the unexpected results and conclusions to take. The most interesting are to me the guys who dropped more than expected, because if someone went to soon it could have been a reach by one person, but to drop you need a consensus of people not wanting you.

I gotta admit I really like the way your team is shaping up. Team of the tournament thus far, imo. Love your decision to start Vuc over Barnes too. Vuc's presence in the paint allows Giannis to wreak havoc as a free safety on defense.

Super duper thrilled with my team so far!

Chris Paul
Donovan Mitchell
Anthony Edwards
Jarred Vanderbilt
Richaun Holmes

De'Aaron Fox
Jordan Poole
Cade Cunningham

Trying to run a similar defensive scheme as the current Timberwolves do. Have CP3 quarterback the defense, calling out switches, cuts, etc, and have the athleticism of Spida, Ant, and Jarred take effect. Also, love all the different types of lineups I can do here (working on some as we speak.) I leaned heavily into talent, and I really like the product so far.

Not sure I follow your plan tbh. You got one of the best floor generals of all time in CP3. He isn't getting any younger, but he's still an elite decision maker in the half court. The way to maximize his impact is to build a hard-nosed team which thrives in the half court. For instance, look at the Suns:

- They got a secondary shot creator in Booker. He can play either on or off the ball.
- They got a PnR specialist in Ayton. He scores 1.34 PPP when rolling to the basket which ranks in the 83rd percentile. He also ranks 3rd in the league in screen assists with 5.7 per game! Ayton is perfect at setting up CP3 and vice versa.
- They got two 3+D (s)wings in Bridges and Crowder. They are both happy to play off the ball.

What you did is you built an undersized team. Theoretically, undersized teams are at their best when running in the open court. Fox and Edwards play at breakneck pace. All of CP3, Mitchell, Edwards, Fox are at their best when playing with the ball in their hands. Not sure why you'd want them to take the ball away from CP3. If anything, you should want CP3 to be on the ball as much as possible.

Cade is the only guy who's a legit half-court talent, but he's a rookie. He's nowhere close to his full potential.

I love Holmes next to CP3. Just like Ayton, he's a PnR specialist. He scores 1.32 PPP as a roller which ranks in the 82nd percentile. He also ranks 7th in the league in screen assists with 4.7 per game. I reckon the two of them would complement each other perfectly!

I like my ability to throw numerous different looks out there on a given night. That's what I am going for completely here. I like the CP3/Holmes PNR actions I can run, that is one of the looks I will certainly go for in my lineups.

While I get the team itself is "undersized" based on height, guys like CP3, Fox, Mitchell, and Edwards all find ways to find mismatches and exploit them. For CP3, it's his ability to get into the paint and use his skill to hit his patented fallaway middie or find someone under the rim (and of course the PNR). For Fox, Mitchell, and Edwards, it's them using their athleticism to score in the paint. Fox is genuinely one of the best finishers at the rim in the NBA, and both Edwards and Mitchell use their athleticism to apply rim pressure.

As far as the rest of the players like Cade, Poole, and Vanderbilt, they all will have a role as well. Vanderbilt has been arguably 1st team All-Defense this season (insane athlete btw, don't know why the Nuggets traded him), Cade has really started to come along for the Pistons, and is starting to look like the Rookie of the Year, and Poole has been awesome next to Curry on the Warriors. But having an offense like Fox/Mitchell/Edwards/Vanderbilt/Holmes is going to cause a lot of issues for teams defensively. Then to an extent, I can slow down the pace if need be, running CP3/Cade/Holmes lineups which would also cause some problems. Of course there are 2 picks I have left, so the undersized issue will not be a problem once I get those two picks.

Just some of my thoughts, So far I really love most of these teams. Love seeing all the different looks a team can give!

Damian Lillard
Gary Trent, Jr.
Andrew Wiggins
Draymond Green
Jonas Valanciunas

Jalen Brunson
Pat Connaughton
Lamarcus Aldridge

I felt like I was behind the 8 ball with Lillard as my 1st rounder instead of the MVP guys, I'm happy enough with the rest of my draft though.

Still annoyed over switching from CP3 to Trae at the last minute... :noway:

Ironically enough the CP3 guy has drafted a team as if Trae was on the team.

Personally do not see anything wrong with this. Trae has been arguably a top 7ish player this season, and is darn elite offensively. Was happy to see him go when he did!

Oh I definitely have him in that area as well, it's more that I had a clearer idea of how I wanted to build around CP3.

Thanks Power. Yeah, makes me happy.

To be honest I didn’t consider him I earlier rounds so I get why he slipped. He’s not quite good enough to be the guy your offense around, so then you need the right ecosystem for him to shine.

I think he’s proven though to be good enough to be a starter on a contender, so getting him as a back up is great for me.

I considered Seth as my starting SG if someone else took Kennard. To get him in the 7th is without a doubt a great steal.
