As a reminder to how far we've come, four years ago today these words were uttered by our NBA head coach at the time:

“We talked about it as he walked to the free throw line,” Kidd said. “My first response was to miss the second one. We’ll take the bet of someone making it from the other side of the floor. … If we did make that free throw, our luck they get it in-bounds at half-court and we foul the 3-point shooter and it’s a four-point play. We’ll take our chances with them heaving a full-court shot.”
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

He doesn't rebound, he fits our team.

May Day. Benoit Benjamin, Ken Norman. Holy Hell, that was some baad basketball. Talking myself into Derek Strong as a legit starting power forward.

Shudder.

LMAO, there is an obscure name from the past. Like Alan Ogg.

It's amazing Kidd doubled down on this play after the game with these comments. He could've just said "I stuffed up; my bad" but instead took the path of crazy and somehow thought people might buy into this BS.

And yet the Mavs still hired him years later.

Where are you guys getting your championship gear? I just had a look at the NBA store and the selection is pretty paltry. Just a few ugly jackets and a snap back hat. Any t shirts or sweatshirts available elsewhere?

Oh man, all of this hits me like a twisted nostalgia dick punch. We endured so much. It was all I knew as a teenager. I will never take this for granted. I revel in it, I drink and watch our Finals weekly.

The "nostalgia" in this thread is triggering my PTSD...anyone still in the foxhole with Larry K?

I've saved game 6 on the DVR and re-watched this morning. Glorious.

Every time Middleton dribbles off his foot (at least once per game) this season I remember back to the playoffs. In 2 of the 4 wins against Miami Middleton was the leading scorer. 2 of the 4 against the Nets (35, 38). 2 of the 4 against the Hawks (38, 32). And one against the Suns (his 40 point monster game 4).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's very easy to put up with some bad when a player raises his ceiling.

The game against the Suns where he was just walk up heat checking and everything was going down was glorious.

Probably seen most of these plays a million times but it’s nice to see some of the forgotten non-finals plays from this year. My favorite non finals, playoff one is the clutch Brook block on KD. My favorite non playoffs is a two way tie between Giannis block on Claxton dunk in the first game, and Bobby block on Herro against Miami a couple weeks ago.
