We are literally the worst team in NBA history.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Warriors D made most of our offense look bad. Many bail out 3's. Our offense looked off. They were fast. This was a dismantling of our team's strengths by the Warriors today. A lot of good tape that Monty can use and fortunately we're done with them for 3 months.
Cab we still dismantle them in the playoffs?
I still think we are capable but it's up to the players to execute. In the playoffs last year, we had losses where we were outhustled. The following game, we came back with a vengence.

Suns can next win their next 10 games straight and they still won’t be able to wash the stink off this loss.
Terrible.
I especially feel bad for the fans that paid their hard earned money to go watch this game in the arena. They got treated to piss poor effort and likely ruined their Christmas day thanks to this embarrassing loss. All while paying $300+ for game tickets.

It may be a blessing in disguise. We have been coasting most of December, dismissing the other two losses because Ayton and/or Booker were out but now we know we still have to address some things.King4Day wrote:SkyBill40 wrote:You'd expect for him being supposedly so up for this game and being the franchise player, he'd show up and show out. For the Warriors, Klay and Winslow aside, I don't know what they can do to improve their team. So those guys will probably be their prizes.
For us, they forced a ton of turnovers today and we had some unforced ones (paul at the end and Payne's difficult first half).
The 2nd chance points were glaring. Some great defense that led to misses, but we just couldn't get the ball.
When you take a step back and look, a lot of the issues we had are correctable. Just need to clean some things up and get back to work. It's a marathon for a reason. We will not be the same team the next time we face them and neither will they.
Yeah!
When Klay and Wiseman come back for the Warriors, our size advantage dissipates further. We need to address our glaring issues instead of just sitting on them. Whether that's through trade or buyout market.

To lift our ceiling against these teams with top 5 players, do we need to cash in some depth for a difference maker?

When they get Klay, and Poole and Wiggins back. And Wiseman and Damien Lee.
Today the Warriors had a severely depleted team. They had to play Quinndary Weatherspoon for the first time ever, as an emergency covid replacement player who had never played for them before, just to have bodies on the roster.
I am shocked the warriors won with such a depleted team. I expected a replay of toronto crushing the warriors by 19 pts a few days ago.
As a warriors fan, I really miss Javale McGee. I loved his play on the warriors.
This was an embarrassing loss by the Suns. As of now I see Warriors defeated us in 6 in WCF. Their missing 3 key starts and still led from start to finish. My initial prediction of Suns in 6 has drastically changed. This Warriors are not Clippers, Nuggets, or Lakers to beat them you must play a perfect complete game and we didnt. Now they will be full healthy and that scares me.

Props to the Warriors, they played a very good game.
Payne, Shamet and Cam J responded pretty well in the second half but Book was terrible. Not his night, he missed some easy shots and had weird TOs.
Well, disappointing loss but it was a very winnable game. Damn Porter.

The Suns were up in this game. Warriors didn't lead from start to finish, just felt like it mostly.

The game was decided in the last two minutes, it was a FUN and competitive game and I think that fans in person loved it.
Effort wasn't a problem at all, those two teams are great and any of them could have win.
We were favorites because they had more players out but at the end of the day you just can have five guys on the floor. Porter and Payton II played great and they wouldn't have played as many minutes as they played today without those guys out.

Yep. Otto Porter Jr got hot at the wrong time for us. We're a great team. That wasn't a bad loss, but the Warriors are going to keep getting stronger. We've got work to do, but this isn't a cause for panic.Saberestar wrote:Revived wrote:Suns can next win their next 10 games straight and they still won’t be able to wash the stink off this loss.

And all of Porter jr, Bjelica and Payton 2nd were available in free agency. Sure we got McGee. But sat on the rest of our exceptions and Biannual. When we could of likely had any one of these vets for our bench. Bjelica would've been a really nice bench big with Saric out. And Otto Porter Jr would've been so much nicer than Nader or Hutchinson or Wainwright!
But it is what it is apparently.

Of course that's a fair argument. But were we ever even connected to them in reports at all? Or really news of being interested in anyone aside from McGee? I mean you're right that it's entirely possible that they always intended to sign with GS. But it's also still equally plausible that we didn't even make them an offer either. It seems that we'll never truly know.
Porter Jr signed for 2.3 million, Bjelica signed for just over 2 million. And Payton 2nd signed for just under that. I'm sure that we could've offered a bit more to sway their decision. After all, it's not like GS was considered a legit contender over us at the beginning of the season anyways. And none of the three were given starting roles at the beginning of the year. So it likely wasn't about role, or ring chasing obviously!
So that leaves the most obvious choice left to be the money? We decided to not even use our Biannual, haven't filled for the injury exception for Saric and are still holding the rest of our MLE too. I do again agree that none of it really matters now. But also agree that we must absolutely fix what we can! With that being our
1- horrible rebounding!
2- lack of any legitimate 3 point defense and poor defensive rotations.
3- Turnovers resulting from sloppy and unenthused play.
** Also if we could find a way to boost our bench scoring, We'll be in much better shape.

Effort and hustle is why they lost. GS had more steals, offensive rebounds and caused more turnovers. It's part of that next gear you need to see from a championship team.
Paul made mistakes, Booker went iso ball too often and Ayton was passive especially rebounding. So much for having a chip and wanting to prove a point to all the detractors.

If you guys don't already, I highly recommend this podcast. These guys do post game shows after each game and, especially after losses, makes you feel a bit better. Good way to 'talk it out'.
