NBA All-Star Voting 2022

Post#1 » by The Warrior » Sun Dec 26, 2021 3:46 am

Hey Raptors fam, I didn't see a thread on this so I thought I would start it. NBA All Star voting officially started today. Thought we should show some love to our Raptors and perhaps some former Raptors legends (Lowry, DeRozan, Valanciunas).

You can only vote two players in the backcourt so I'm going to have to alternate FVV, Lowry, and DeRozan showing them each some love while in the frontcourt I got Siakam, OG, and of course our boy Scottie.

You can vote either hrough the app or at https://vote.nba.com/en. You can also vote through Twitter as using #NBAAllStar and include the hashtag of the first and last name of the player i.e. #NBAAllStar #ScottieBarnes 8-)

I think you have to put out a separate tweet for each player you want to vote for though if you're doing it through Twitter. Anyway, go out there and vote. :D

Although I don’t think this team deserves an All Star and I hate his style of play, I voted Fred and the rest of the starters. Like I always do

Would be a cool story for an undrafted player to get into the all star game

I think DeMar has a good chance of getting selected this year

It's going to be tough for Fred, he's certainly not getting voted in so it will depend on the coaches votes. He's got a lot of stiff competition and we aren't playing very well, but maybe the coaches respect his game.

I think there's a decent chance we don't have an All-Star this year unfortunately

Demar is top 5 in MVP status... being an allstar is all but a certainty.

Apologies, I meant as a starter, you never know with the voters who gets selected

Cavs are pushing for Mobley. Raps should push for Barnes too.

Maybe should have put Towns in before Gobert, idk. Doncic over CP3 but I wouldn’t be mad either way.

FVV is the only one that has any real chance of making the team barring a massive hot streak from Scottie or Siakam in January. Harden, Trae and LaVine are really the only East backcourt players that clearly deserve a spot over FVV at this point. Beal, LaMelo, Jrue and Garland are the main players FVV will be competing with for the last few backcourt spots. If he keeps putting up 20/5/7 on solid efficiency while also having the impact of a star, he should get in as a reserve or injury replacement even if we're still floating around a play-in seed.

We'd all love for Scottie to make it, but the frontcourt talent in the East is significantly stronger. Durant, Giannis, Embiid, Tatum, Butler and Sabonis are pretty much locks then you have a bunch of guys like Bam, Collins and Allen/Mobley that would probably make it over Scottie. Then you have some former all-stars that are having down years (Middleton, Randle and Vucevic) and a few players that would likely be voted in as frontcourt players because they are playing most of their minutes there this season (DeRozan and Brown).

Fred is the only worthy Allstar this year.

I wonder if an allstar weekend will be feasible this year

Fred is the first Raptor player I will not vote for and hope doesn’t become an All-Star for the reason he is trying too hard, forcing it and playing selfish just to make it instead of coming naturally.

VanVleet, Lowry, Butler, Anunoby, Siakam
Is my vote routine. Demar will get enough votes.

The guy that is averaging the 3rd most FGA per36 on the team despite being the most efficient scorer and almost producing twice as many assists as the next highest on the team is "playing selfish"?

Not like anyone should take anything you say seriously anyway. You've been praying for injuries/illnesses to various players on the team lol.

Always like to see Raptors represented on the All-Star squads but this year none are deserving. Fred is the only one close and there's just no way to make an argument for him over Young, Harden, DeRozan, Lavine & Lamelo. I would also put Bulter and Brown over him.

He isn't even their best center. The afro should get the nod before he does. Barnes is our best player, but he's not All-star caliber yet. Too passive at this point. When he asserts himself even a bit as a leading player who commands attention he will move into consideration pretty quickly.

FVV deserves to be one this year. Best 2 way PG in the east.

Lowry is not an all-star this year in any way and as much as you love the guy, he doesn't deserve raptors fans votes this year.
