Here we go!
We have serious issues with rebounding that must be addressed. But Monty and Jones seem adverse to adding more size or commiting to spending for a specialist type of player. So on the cheap and still only at 6'7, This kid is absolutely an ELITE REBOUNDER. He's also a high motor, constant energy dirtworker type with a nose for the ball that makes him a rebounding machine!!! And we should be able to add him for the absolute minimum. Maybe he could replace Hutchinson?? ** IF Hutchinson isn't ever going to actually play outside of the GLeague anyways? :dontknow:

Chicago Bulls have an insanely efficient rebounder in Alize Johnson. ... Last season with the Nets, Johnson averaged 17.9 points per 36 minutes, 17.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks.Oct 7, 2021

I'd sign him to a 10 day. Play with Ayton and JaVale and see how he does. Maybe if he progresses he could backup Ayton next year if they don't think they can afford to keep McGee.

It won’t just be those guys. At least 3-4 more of our players will enter protocols in the next few days.

With Crowder out Alize Johnson makes a lot of sense on a 10-day contract.

Whilst I do think he'd be a very nice and clever pickup by our front office to directly address our critical rebounding needs and his energy and relentless defense would be a boon for our bench. I'm not sure at 6'7 if I'd prefer him as our backup center for Ayton? :-?
Nevertheless, I still think he'd be that high energy dirtworker that can have a positive impact off our bench, Whilst coming very cheap and not getting in the way of our plans to add a frontcourt big ( 4/5)? From the buyout market. But then again, with how the games played these days, You never know.

I wonder IF just if he can be a bargain version of Jimmy Butler with his disruptive defensive energy and solid on ball defense too. He has a 108.9 defensive rating, so he's actually pretty solid all around.
Alize Johnson Off Ball Defense

Alize Johnson perimeter defense

If he can develop his shooting more and manages to hit his ceiling?

Looks like he's got good shooting mechanics and solid ballhandling skills to build off of. I enjoyed that in this video, Shamet was the one guarding him ( about 1:04-1:20) in the video. But his handle looks tight. :dontknow:

Lol................

Wouldn't it be funny if David actually lurked around here and came across this discussion from earlier today? Might be "Wordsenuff" from back in the day perhaps?? :D

Still, I hope that he's right! Because we could really use the rebounding and some relentless dirtworker energy off the bench.

Let's hope we pick him up although I'd be surprised if we did, just makes too much sense for it to happen and so it won't

Thanks Draymond...

No matter how careful the Suns are if they are playing with infected players this virus spreads like wildfire, at least Booker probably won't come down with it soon since he just recovered from covid recently.

Hope the rest of the team got their boosters.

Also with Payton likely out for a bit along with Crowder, And with Payne struggling mightily, I'd like us to look at bringing IT back for a run as our microwave scorer ( ala Galloway) since the Flakers apparantly aren't offering him a 2nd 10 day contract.

Might be better to get it now, 2nd or 3rd seed doesn't matter too much as long as this doesn't happen again in playoffs.

Opportunity for CamJo to show he's worth $16m and lift our ceiling this season.

I think the Suns can sign two players with Crowder out - Johnson would be a smart one. Not sure the other spot but a guard would be nice

Just need to get back at it tonight against the Grizzlies.

We need a PF with Crowder out, especially if Nader is still out. It is slim pickens though. Spotrac says James Ennis III is available but it appears he may be signed with the Nets even though he has barely played. He is a SF but since we play small and he could stretch the floor, he's a bigger need than guard.

The only other guys on Spotrac that are PFs..not great but not much there, are Ilyasova and Mike Scott. Both can hit the 3.

Perhaps one of these other guys..

We probably can just give Bridges and Cam a ton of minutes but really need Frank back. He could play a little PF but maybe Nader even more

Looks like they signed someone else which sucks cause Alize sounded perfect. Can they still get him or only allowed 1 player?

Terry has a long hair just like Jae, here's a hope his absence won't be felt.

Alize Johnson has been evaluated and released by two professional basketball teams this season alone, let's relax about him being a blessing.
