A Trade with... the Celtics?!?! (POLL)

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Mon Dec 27, 2021 7:55 am

Hello all, neutral Nets fan here. I wanted to get your thoughts on a trade idea. The objective would be for both teams to retool with better fitting complementary players. Here's the proposal:

Smart/Richardson/Hernanogomez/R. Williams for Westbrook/Ellington/Bradley/Rondo

Boston would get an elite transition lead guard, who has the court vision to feed both Jayson and Jaylen in the half court.

LA would get a full-time C to take minutes off of Anthony and Lebron at that position. They also patch the defensive G role that Caruso left behind.

Any of the minimum contracts could work, if Boston wanted another bigman like Jordan instead of another guard. There IS a precedent of these bitter rivals trading, too, so what are your thoughts on this one? Yes or no, and why?

Sure if Boston wants to do it. I can’t see them giving up Smart, who is the only player of any real value in that deal.

Is this even a question?!??? YES 100% YES. Get the most inefficient chucker in the league to my most hated team ever? Please I'll buy WestTrash's 1st class ticket to Boston if I have too.

Boston won't even pick up the phone. They probably think, as 29 other NBA teams except for the Lakers, that not having Westbrook is addition by subtraction.

Kidding me? Yes, I’d do that trade in one second. Williams is perhaps the perfect C (yes at 6’9”) to put next to AD at the four. Smart, too?

If you remove Williams or Smart, then maybe they’ll listen. You still might have to include THT.

I would love to see the Celtics bite on a trade like that and do I think it’ll ever happen? No. Never.

Two words - elite and Westbrook have nothing common.
