Myself though I've had it already along with all 3 of my kids, my mom, my brother, sister, stepdad, wife, multiple friends. Nobody even had symptoms worse then a cold if at all.
Its been all through my area even my local Drs office to where I have to do my check ups over the phone. Just not personally seeing the crazy killer sickness like they make it sound at all.
And yes that's just my experience but at this point my experience is seeing it literally everywhere. And that's not even counting how many around here probably have it without knowing to get tested.
First of all, I'm glad that you and your family had minimal effects from this but to say that the vaccine is garbage is seriously misinformed. If it wasn't for the vaccines, many more people would have died, hospitals would have been overrun (especially with this more contagious variant) and we'd probably be on lockdown still or at least have more severe restrictions. The vaccines were a gamechanger that allowed us to live somewhat normally in the last calendar year or so.
I happen to be one of those "we need to learn with the virus and lets not live in fear" folks but I also recognize that the vaccines work and the more people that get vaccinated the sooner we can get back to complete normal. People can do whatever they want in terms of making the best choice for them and their family so if they don't want to take the vaccine that's their choice but make no mistake, they are a part of the reason why this thing is being prolonged.
Also, to reiterate, it's not about how many people get it. It's about reducing severe effects and preventing the health care system from getting compromised. The vaccines might not prevent the spread but they absolutely work in terms of preventing illness which was the whole reason for the lockdowns in the first place, the Covid patients filling up hospital beds which, since the vaccines were introduced, have been mainly unvaccinated folks.
